Taka's izakaya food on Long Island is truly unbeatable, with a level of authenticity that's hard to come by. The experience provided by Taka and his wife is as close to Japan as you can get, making every visit a memorable one.

For many years Taka has been my go to place for sushi and/or other Japanese food. The restaurant is not fancy, but it is very clean and the food has always been fresh, with the service caring. Don't expect gulp, gulp service. In line with traditional Japanese custom, your dinner will be relaxing. I frequently order off the menu, or from Taka's suggestion. I have never been disappointed. The prices are not low, but they are not high considering the quality of his food. I have been to other restaurants where similar meals have cost me at least 50% more. If you are looking for an authentic dining experience, Taka nails it.

Been a long time since my last visit here - wish i knew why - the food was exceptional, the Steak Teriyaki, cooked to perfection, the Specialty rolls fresh and quite tasty... Definitely, a hidden jem when looking for a Sushi Restaurant!

I took my grandson (27 years old) and his significant other here last week It ws my treat for all the help they have given me. We sat at he counter and I ordered the "Chef's Choice" for all three of us. It was Fantastic! Taka gave us sushi that wasn't on the regular menu (Braised Perch, Toro (fatty blue fin tuna) it just kept going, ending with Tekka Eel. We also had tea and Sake with the meal. We had a great time, Taka is a wonderful host and his staff is top line.
