09/16/2008 - Big Dissapointment
Over-priced, mediocre food. We went in expecting it to be like "Kobe Steak House" and it was far from it. It's hard to believe that they market themselves as a Japanese restaurant. The staff weren't savvy regarding Japanese cuisine.....the ones we interacted with spoke Spanish.....with no knowledge of what they should be serving or how to serve in general. The restaurant itself was dirty, loud and reminded me of a some back-woods "family" restaurant. Definitely NOT $$$. There were groups of teens that were loud and out of control, families with children that were playing the drums on their plates using their chopsticks (and flicking rice at each other) all while the staff was busy ignoring everything around them. The server was horrible and the "chef" was inexperienced. The food itself was lackluster.....some things were under-cooked, some over-cooked. We had to ask for refills because the server was too busy talking with someone off to the side. When our bill came, we were overcharged and when my husband questioned it he was treated very rudely by the server...by this point it didn't surprise us because the service had been awful all night. After pointing out the incorrect charge three times the server finally changed the total. When she came back she decided to make an example out of us and ask the whole table if they had any problems with their bills. We were appalled. In addition to the horrendous service and poor atmosphere, the facilities were also an issue. One word. FILTHY. I would never recommend this restaurant and am surprised that they feel they have earned the right to charge the prices that they do when they have a LOT of improving to do. They need to deep clean the entire establishment, terminate less than friendly staff, re-train those that are able to give excellent service and review their menu and improve it.
