Being a self-proclaimed fish and chips enthusiast with a seasoned palate from my time in Scotland, my expectations were quite discerning. The breading of the fish was the highlight for me, with a perfect balance that set it apart from the heavily breaded versions I've encountered. While I typically prefer fillet-style pieces, the rectangular fish stick appearance didn't detract from the ample amount of fish within. The availability of generous amounts of malt vinegar and salt, along with reasonable pricing for both the fish and chips and beer, made this pier-side establishment in a California resort town a standout experience.
