Back in 95, I worked at the Sierras in Canoga Park as a food server. Worked there for 10 years also worked the one in San Fernando. I'm really surprised to see that they think they are still opened. I loved that place. I worked in the office al so. But mostly as a food server . I have wonderful memories of Sierra's in Canoga ParK. It was very sad of Reaga, the owner , to not say thank you and goodbye to everyone! The doors just closed immediately during Christmas time. And after all the years, years of dedication. He didn't have to sell the place he chose to sell the place after the San Fernando Sierras burnt down. Honestly, he didn't have very good people skills. I loved all the people I worked with it was so sad to know that it was closed down especially after the nice San Fernando restaurant was just about to open after remodeling. Someone burned it down obviously out of jealousy...I don't know how I got onto the sites but I was just wanting to find out how to place burned down in the San Fernando Valley. So that is my story.

...I'm a long time patron of Sierra's back in the 50'-60's. My mother was very good friends with Ed and Maria Sierra, and had many of their recipe's, Back when it was a very small place on Mission Bl.. Then they expanded to a big , full blown restaurant and the Son's ran it.. expanded again and opened Mission Burrito in Canoga Park...Then mysteriously ..the original burned to the ground and still sits as a vacant lot. I was surprised that they still advertise as being open but it has been many years since the restaurant on Mission was lost in a fire...BTW I was Born in San Fernando in 1949...Lived on Brand Bl. til I was 5-6...
