I love LaHacienda for its great authentic Mexican food and the atmosphere is always lively with people greeting each other and the super great staff laughing and being very friendly with the patrons! The food is really superb considering it's in the heart of Acadiana! I've never noticed a tv but that's probably because I'm either digging in to my great meal or people watching as the Cajuns ate so friendly and always...no matter where you go...seem to know each other! I highly recommend La Hacienda in Opelousas as I have been to others in the area but the owner and and friendly staff are always lively and cheerful and the food is sooo great and service is so quick this one is just hard to beat!

The food, service and décor were all fine. I found the huge TV to be a negative distraction not only for its imposing size, but also the program, TruTV, that showed what appeared to be everyday people who were pushing, shoving and yelling at each other. I would never take my kids to this spot. I go to a Mexican restaurant to enjoy the food and atmosphere provided by the décor and background music, not a TV screen too large to ignore. If I want TV, I’ll go to a sports bar.

Hacienda has been one of my favorite eateries for the past couple of years, offering tasty Mexican fare with consistently fine service. I've tried over a dozen offerings, but keep coming back for the chicken fajitas.
