The new ownership has brought about some changes at the BBQ joint, but the food quality remains consistent. Although the brisket and baked beans didn't quite hit the mark for me, the friendly service and upcoming improvements make me willing to give it another try next time I'm passing through.

All other bbq in baton rouge area must give awards to themselves, compare big jakes to them they need to give up their awards to Big Jakes hands down the king of louisiana bbq, the one in port allen needs lessons

I am never going to be happy with Texas BBQ AGAIN . I LIVE IN THE BBQ CAPITOL AUSTIN ,I HAD TO GO TO LOUISIANA ON A LOCATION , GOT HUNGRY WAS TOLD ABOUT BIG JAKES BBQ . SO I DECIDED TO GIVE A TRY THIINKING I SHOULD GO SOMEWHERE ELSE . WELL I AM VERY IMPRESSED THE BEST I EVER HAD I WENT FIVE DAYS IN A ROW. Hated to leave louisiana knowing about how long it will be brfore i will have BIG JAKES

Great food super salad bar no matter what time I drove thru there id stop and get my favorite red beans and rice and alligator sausage friendly folks!!
