Top Reviews of Portico Bar & Grill

review_stars 12/29/2019 - Connie Beauregard
The first time we went to Portico in Ruston three weeks ago everything was Amazing. The steaks were great and the service was wonderful. Sadly, today at 6 pm, we went back to Portico in Ruston. We had 5 people in our party. Three ordered ribeye, one had redfish, and one had a sirloin. One sirloin was brought out instead of a ribeye, so that had to go back. When it came out again, they did not replace the sides, so they were Cold. My ribeye was fat and gristle, and so loaded down with red pepper, that it was not edible, so I sent that back and got a filet. The filet was great. I enjoyed my salad while I waited for a new steak since it was brought out at the same time. Each plate was brought out one at a time. The sirloin was medium rare when it had been ordered as medium, so that went back as well. When the sirloin came back, the sides had not been replaced so they were COLD. The new sirloin that was brought out was RARE, so that one went back as well. Number THREEsirloin was just the same steak as before, just cooked longer( the manager told us that they were cooking a new steak, which was not TRUE) but it was so overdone as to be SHOE LEATHER. The place was at 25 % full at most. We had the manager over 3 separate times. The last time that the manager came over, we told her that the sirloin needed to be taken off of the bill because is was not edible. We were promptly told that the kitchen "HAD" to cut into 4 sirloins and that their policy was only to take off 10% of the bill. If you had cooked the sirloin right the first time, there would not have been but ONE. They also took off one soda and one cocktail. It must be nice to know that no matter how BAD your product is, you will still be paid full price. What a great POLICY to have. And to think that we had planned on bringing people to Portico for our son's graduation in May. We will NEVER go back to Portico in Ruston. With this policy, the management is proving that they are not interested in repeat customers, only their bottom line. I am going to tell everyone I know NOT to use this place. We eat out often and tip well for great service. You should be ashamed of serving that crap.

We reserved a Private dining room for a graduation luncheon a month in advance. The room was hot, we waited almost 2 hours for our meal- party of 15. And, the food was cold and stale. Most of the guests were from Monroe or Sulphur, La and chose to host the party at Portico's based on my recommendation.
I am humiliated.
The luncheon was help on May 17. Fortunately you will lose only a few repent customers since most were from out of town.
