10/06/2014 - bobbie
We went and had the biscuits and gravy, and my daughter mac and cheese. The biscuits came in a little skillet - which I'm guessing the heat from the skillet continued to cook the biscuits because they were hard on the bottoms. The gravy had some kind of weird spice that hit you as an after taste. The mac and cheese was very oily and had a weird after taste as well. The OWNER came around and I told him the issues and he said "ok" and walked on. Ok, well, I won't be back. I was hoping that while they did do a big change to Jessies, they would have left the traditional items alone - like the biscuits and gravy. Will never go back.

Though I had the opportunity to speak with someone regarding our experience this morning, I chose not to because several diners would have overheard my less than stellar review. First-the hot chocolate was so watered down once you got through the topping, it tasted more like water than hot chocolate-when waitress was informed of this she just said, oh. When our meals arrived, each only had one biscuit-the menu stated there was two full biscuits-pointed this out to waitress and she said it said only one biscuit cut in two so I showed her the menu and she agreed that's what it said and that she would point that out to someone. she asked if i'd like another biscuit and I said no, that's ok. She brought them anyway, had I sampled the one on my plate by then I would have told her to take them back. The biscuit on my plate was too dry even with added butter and jelly. I love most bread but could not even finish one biscuit.t I was unsure food could taste as bland as my entire meal did but you have proven me wrong. My husband did say the sausage was good and the gravy was ok but that his eggs were too runny and were not ordered this way-when mgr asked if everything was ok, my husband told him about the eggs but there was no offer to do anything about it. As an added bonus, as we were walking out there was a waitress serving food to the next table and as she was bent over placing a platter in front of one guest, her cross neckless had fallen into the other plate of eggs.
We had been so looking forward to Jessie's reopening because we used to enjoy truly good food there and since we live so close, thought it would be someplace close to have breakfast weekly. Hopefully for the new owners, other diners won't mind the tasteless bacon and eggs, but we'll stick to Christie's.
