Awesome food and Awesome staff!!!! Always a great night out to eat

This was literally the worst meal that I have ever eaten. The bread was white italian loaf from the grocery store, taken from the bag and placed straight into a basket; the stuffed "olives" were fried cheese with a few cut up black olive pieces; the house salad was day old mixture from a bag with the most bitter balsamic dressing and the veal (my husband and I each got a different veal plate) was covered in cheap gravy and slapped on boxed mashed potatoes. My meal came with 2 shrimp that tasted like swimming pool water.
our beer (Peroni) arrived warm...the sparkling water wasn't even good. We had been given a gift certificate for our wedding and gotten high recommendations...the whole experience was a huge disappointment. We tried to end the night on a positive note and ordered espresso, but "Oh, that espresso machine has been broken for years..." Now that is an authentic Italian restaurant for you.
The waitress was not attentive. We over tipped from the gift card just to use up the money because we will NEVER return.

Hands down the food was GREAT... The wine reccomended by the waiter, was the best I've tried yet. Atmosphere, was fun on Jazz night. This is definitely a restaurant I would reccomend... Great expierience Ricardo.

I use to be a regular at this restaruaunt up until last year. Last year Ricardo's had a bit of a pest problem, mice to be exact. I know every establishment has a pest problem once in a while, so i decided to go back about 2 months ago. On my last visit, a roach ran over my hand during my dinner............... i will never go back again. Amazing food, great service, but i'm disgusted........

This is a real sleeper. Don't let the location fool you. The food is great and fairly priced. Its worth a look.

A very fine 'value' venue with a local-nbhd trattoria atmosphere. food prep was greeat. wine list very good. yes, there are more upscale Italian restaurants but Ricardo's fills a needed niche. do not be put off by other's bad experiences. go and find out for yourself. My wife and I had an excellent experience and will return.

I think some of these negative reviewers might need to calm down a bit!!! They had me so skeptical of this place I put off going there for 7 months after I moved right down the street. Guess what. IT IS OUTSTANDING. The waitress and Ricardo were both very friendly and unintrusive. The food was absolutely incredible. The stuffed olive appetizer was a hit even with the people at the table who hate olives!!!! The calamari appatizer was HUGE and tasty. The house salad with gorgonzola was like nothing I have ever tasted. I'm generally a meat-guy but I would return just for the salad! The grilled pork chop with kale was moist and the glaze was sweet and delicious and my wife's lobster mac and cheese was terrific. Be prepared for a nice casual slow-paced meal in an adorable setting. I really regret not having gone earlier and have learned to read other people's reviews with a huge grain fo salt, believe me!

The owner is son of former Lowell mayor and one time city councilor Ray Rourke. Ray was a good man, but it is hard for me to see how his son has adopted a pretentious attitude and false Italian accent.
I have dined there for several special occasions. The food is overpriced for the quality, level of service and atmosphere. When I go, it is only at someone else’s suggestion. There are many better alternatives.

The only problem with Ricardos is Ricardo.

Our dinner was excellant until the owener told the waiter to get us out because he had people with reservations for our table. My friend overhead the owner telling them to get us out. She was very upset and the owener was also when he found out we orders and after dinner drink. This was a special ocassion. I have always loved the food but the owner needs to go to charm school......
