Onion rings were floury. Very undercooked. Scallops were okay. Not many of them. Cash only establishment.

had the fried clams there last week, the best i ever had....i used to go, up on rt 1, by the beaches down maine to get seafood...little did i know that capitians johns right here in lowell had better tasting seafood. try it you to will be hooked

this is the place for unreal fried clams and other seafood. wicked good fried haddock. clean tasting, not all greasy and heavy. great drinks, family-run neighborhood restaurant. Fast takeout.

Captain John's has a nice lunch menu. Large plates of home style meals. The owners Nick and Maria are very pleasant.

The place is a bar - A real mans bar bar so don't think this is the 99 restaurant - good food and cheap drinks.

i've been in captain johns its been a long time i
left lowell in 1982 with my daughters,that was 30 years ago when i was in there,it was very good.i
grew up in lowell & used to in the highland tap as well as capt.johns,i haven't been to lowell since 1992 i'm in florida now.my daughters are still there though they go in there.

I smelt a weird stench as I walked through the door. Bartenders don't pay much attention to customers. They like to gossip. Heard this place is nothing but trouble.
