06/26/2010 - Justin Kidd
I went to the Cheesecake Bistro on 06.20.10. The reason for this dinner was to celebrate Father's Day with my daughter and girlfriend. Our order was originally keyed at 19:35 which was twenty minutes after we were seated. After the drinks were ordered we ordered a bang bang shrimp appetizer along with three entrees. While waiting for our appetizer an expediter came to the table with two cobb salads which were not ours. After waiting 30 minutes for the appetizer our server came by and we asked for the status of the appetizer. She went to check on it and returned stating “someone took it to the wrong table” she at that time went to re order it. After waiting over an hour for food a different expediter brought the three entrees, but no appetizer. At that point I asked the expediter to send the manager to the table. I counted three managers on the floor one of which was physically serving a table at the time I made the request to speak with a manager.
We promptly began to eat our entrees as my five year old daughter had been stating she was hungry and asking where her food was for over ten minutes prior to the entrees arriving. My girlfriend ordered a Crescent City wrap which was sadly the highlight of the meal. My girlfriend was very satisfied with the flavor of the wrap overall. My daughter liked the popcorn shrimp that was ordered, however the steamed broccoli and cheese along with the rice were in her words “bland.” That statement rang true for not only her broccoli but mine as well. I ordered the classic filet and substituted the broccoli as well. The steak I will say was cooked perfectly and decently seasoned. The broccoli on the other hand was bland to say the least. I grew up in south Louisiana and expect great food and good service from any franchise that Al Copeland would allow use of his name.
On leaving the establishment I passed two managers at the door who did not even look my way nor did anyone of the at least five staff members in the greeting area acknowledge me in any way. I can earnestly say neither I nor my girlfriend will ever patronize another Cheesecake Bistro and I will be more than glad to share my sentiment with all of my friends and coworkers. I would not want anyone to go through such shoddy service and poor seasoning at such a price. If I wanted unseasoned, “bland” food along with poor customer service there are many Piccadilly locations to choose from for one third of the price. I hope this note only serves to remedy the customer service and inattention to the flavor of the side dishes.
