The snack shack has the most amazing fried clams I've ever had! And this is saying a lot, my hometown is Old Orchard beach so I grew up going to pine point (Scarborough) and eating freshly caught clams fried right next to the ocean, but man were the prices jacked up! The fried clams at the snack shack are perfectly coated, you will never find one that has more breading than clam on it and also they are not overly crunchy. The outside of the breading is nice golden and crunchy while the inside is soft which compliments the clam I think. The batter also has a unique taste, its almost a bit sweet I would say, but it really makes all the difference for a large leap in taste.
So I guess you can tell what my favorite menu item is there! Snack shack does not only specialize in fried food, but they have a wide variety of delicious sandwiches, wraps, and burgers as well. They usually have chili and two soups going as well. (If I'm really hungry I can never resist their chili) They also carry desserts but I'm not sure if they are on the menu, or if they make brownies and cookies and sell them off the display, as I have never eaten dessert here.
For the dining area, its a bit small but there is always seating, most of the orders are take-out and not dine-in.
