I used an app that highlighted restaurants featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, and Elm Tree Diner was one of those spots I wanted to try. The extensive menu offered a variety of delicious options, and despite the busy environment, the service was friendly, making for an enjoyable dining experience.

My son took us out for dinner on Sunday. I picked the place to go. What a disappointment. We will never go again. My husband and I got the sea food platter to share, cause it was always so big. We got three scallops, three clams, and three shrimp and a few fries. We came home and ate again. My granddaughter ordered the spaghetti and couldn't eat it, it tasted too bad. Looked like paste. My daughter-in-law ordered the chicken sandwich, and said it tasted like it was cooked with the seafood. Sorry to say, but I will never recommend this place again 🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵

First time I have ever not been able to eat a meal. I ordered a grilled chicken breast sandwich and I could not chew the chicken. It was like rubber, that's the only way I can describe it. I did not complain as I didn't want to embarrass the waitress. I do not eat beef so my choices were limited.

Was excited that Elm Tree diner reopened only to be very disappointed in the food and the service. Took 1.5 hrs to get a half cooked cheese burger and a cold chicken burger. Some people left without getting their meal because of the wait time. Both of our meals had absolutely no flavor. Had to add salt and pepper to every bite. Prices seem to be higher than they should be for a burger with a few potato chips. The water was good. Kitchen staff could certainly be cleaner. I was shocked by the appearance of 3 staff who I saw in the kitchen. Also there were at least 10 orders sitting waiting to be taken to customers but yet no one seemed to care. No wonder my chicken was cold. The actual dining area seemed to be clean. I certainly hope they improve their service and food because Houlton certainly needs a decent family dining area. I am going back to Tim's!
