One of my all-time favorite restaurants is a cozy family-owned spot that serves up the most delicious boneless fried chicken dinners. I've been a loyal customer for years and every visit is a treat, with good service and a satisfying menu. Opting for takeout this time, I enjoyed a cup of their tasty Clam Chowder and the perfectly cooked Boneless Chicken with double mashed potatoes - just wished they had given more gravy!

The food was mostly good, prices were reasonable, but service was terrible. Our waitress was pleasant and apologetic, but she was working a table of 20 in the room next to us and we were basically ignored. It took a full 2 hours from the time we sat down until we finally got the check. It was more than an hour before our the food to came out. This was our first time there, we were extremely patient, but it never got better. As we were leaving a big group was seated in our room, they got immediate attention from a different waitress. I guess our small party of 6 wasn't worth the attention. We will not be returning.

The food is delicious, the cook never disappoints. I never had a problem with the staff, always pleasant and happy to help. I've been going there 40 years, I will continue to go there with my family. I want to thank the McGovern's family and their Staff for making it a pleasure to have such a pleasant family atmosphere. I highly recommend McGovern's Family Restaurant! I had attended a first communion and the food was horrible not only was the food cold but there was literally a pile of rice under my feet from a previous even, I mentioned it to one of the waiters and they proceeded with getting a broom to clean up the silvrware was dirty, and I was concerned with the safety of my health due to the sanitation of this facility. I wish I could not even give one start I would never come back here ever again it was distugusting and the people were all rude with long faces like they hated thier job, They need to hire a cleaning company and a new cook along with new staff!!!!!!!

Big disappointed. The prices have sky rocketed and the portions are extremely small. Chowder was cold. Ate there and shared a plate they had the nerve to charge an extra dollar for extra plate. Seriously? The portions were so small I had ordered take out to eat when I got home only to get home to see they had forgotten my vegetables. Will not ever be going there again not even for take out.

wrote a review earlier about having to call 3 times to place an order for Thanksgiving. I changed my rating because I was finally successful and as always I am sure the meals will be enjoyable

They spoiled my Thanksgiving. First when I tried to place an order a few weeks ago for 3 individual meals for Thanksgiving they told me I could not order individual meals at the time. I called this morning at 11 after making several attempts to call and place an order they told me they were extremely busy call back at 4. At 4 I had the same problems getting through. Once again I was told to call back after 6 this time. They are extremely busy. How can I be sure I will be able to place an order then? Sounds like they have a staffing problem and did not plan ahead appropriately to handle the increased orders due to the pandemic.

My wife and I celebrated our 52nd anniversary today. I called Kathy earlier in the week because I needed to make it special. My wife is very ill. I requested several items that were not easy to get. Soup to desert. Kathy did not promises anything but would do her best. Welll she did more than her best. If I could give a rating higher than a 10 she would get it. My wife was amazed at what what accomplished and is still raving about it. Especially the desert. Thank you Kathy for making this a memory to remember

The food was horrible!! Went with a party of 20 ppl and only half of us enjoyed the food. Three meals were sent back and seven ppl only ate a small portion of theirs, I haven't been there in two years due to the same situation. We would definetly never go back, nothing was really done to correct the situation. The place has definetly gone downhill.
