Mighty Peace Congo Umoja
Our friends at Might Peace Coffee have been hard at work to help bring us this very special delivery of coffee that we will be featuring in the cafes for the next month or tow. Say hello to the Might Peace Congo Umoja. It is the first coffee we have brought in from the South Kivu region in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. The cooperative has been working on increasing the quality of the coffee over the last 10 year, in order to help improve the living conditions of its members. The Umoja is truly one of the most unique coffees we have had an honor of roasting. We treated it very delicately in the roaster to highlight the intrinsic acidity while developing enough body to create a substantial, drinkable cup. Once in the cup, the Umoja offers up an explosion of flavors, featuring a tight, bright acidity and clean tropical overtones. Zorzal Eggo Cabernet Franc
2014 - Incredibly perfumed for a Cabernet Franc, as the nose is very floral and made me think of a Malbec rather than a Cabernet Franc. The spiciness of all these Eggo wines comes from the grapes and the fermentation and aging in cement, as none of the wines see any oak. And I tell you one thing, you do not miss the oak or the complexity or anything, it's all here. This is the first year for this vertical, fresh, tremendous Cabernet Franc. Pierre-marie Chermette Cassis
Produced exclusively from Noir de Bourgogne blackcurrants. The texture is particularly creamy; you can see that when you tip the bottle then put it back upright, the crème sticks to the sides. This is a sign of quality and balance. The colour is dark and tends towards purple. Very strong, long-lasting blackcurrant aromas. The crème is very concentrated, meaning you can serve very small quantities without losing any flavours. When served straight, the texture is creamy.

Eiko Fuji Ban Ryu Sake
Ban Ryu means “ten thousand ways.” It is an expression used in the sake world to answer the question, in how many ways is one sake different from another. The answer, in 10 Thousand Ways: the yeast, the koji, timing of brewing, etc., It also means, more informally, “versatility.” The brewery tries to catch both meanings in its name, however, they passionately believe it can be enjoyed in 10 Thousand ways–chilled, warmed, hot, with light food, heavy food, sweet food and spicy food.

Mullineux Syrah
2015 - It has a clean and precise bouquet with floral-tinged red berry fruit (red cherry and wild strawberry), nicely focused and developing more intensity with aeration. The palate is very well balanced with crisp acidity, fine structure, much more detail than the 2014 and I think that is down to the higher whole bunch proportion, the sense of energy flowing through on the long finish. Compared to the 2014 Syrah, I much prefer this: more freshness and complexity.--93pts Wine Advocate

Domaine Huet Vouvray Sec Haut Lieu 2019
2019 - Ripe pear, tangerine and orange fruits with notes of lemon grass and green pimientos intertwined with very fine chalky and later tobacco notes give a remarkably fine, elegant and harmonious, subtly complex and simply gorgeous bouquet with floral (lime blossom!) and yeasty aromas that are immediately attractive. Delicate and linear on the palate, this is a pure, fresh, bone-dry, lean and textured, highly refined and perfectly interwoven Chenin with persistent purity, finesse, salty-mineral tension and very fine tannins. Groot Constantia Sauvignon Blanc
2015 - Expressive, ripe scents of lime, grapefruit pith, tropical fruits, dusty herbs, talc and minerals, plus a sexy raw peppery quality and some high-pitched spice oils that are not from oak. At once broad and bracing on the palate, offering outstanding density for the category plus enough citrus zest and white pepper lift to enliven the fully ripe tropical fruit flavors. Very concentrated wine with serious palate presence. The dusty, saline, tactile finish displays serious length and bracing lift.--92pts Vinous

Failla Occidental Ridge Pinot Noir
2017 - The 2017 Pinot Noir Occidental Ridge Vineyard offers a level of richness and exotic raciness that really stands out in this lineup of generally more understated wines. Dark, mysterious and sensual, the Occidental Ridge gradually opens up in the glass. Dark cherry, lavender, dried herbs, mint and licorice blossom as the wine gains breadth over time. The Occidental Ridge is an absolutely exquisite wine from Failla and Ehren Jordan.--94pts Vinous

Vieux Telegraphe Le Crau Chateauneuf Du Pape
2016 - Undoubtedly one of the top vintages of this wine, the 2016 Chateauneuf du Pape La Crau features classy notes of crushed stones and black tea to go along with ripe raspberries and black cherries. Full-bodied yet silky, there's more power and richness in La Crau than in Piedlong, yet there's commensurate elegance and finesse. The wine grows in intensity on the finish without ever seeming heavy or overripe, instead offering hints of tea and licorice.--96pts Wine Advocate

Vietti Nebbiolo Perbaco
2016 - Barrels not used in the final Barolo Castiglione blend are used to make the 2016 Langhe Nebbiolo Perbacco. In fact, its very name “Perbacco” translates into a somewhat corny “golly gosh” because that was the reaction Luca’s mom had when she first tasted the wine and was told it was not a Barolo. “Perbacco, it tastes like Barolo,” was her comment—and a legend was born. The Vietti family, along with Bartolo Mascarello and Dott G Cappellano back in the day, had battled for some variation of a Rosso di Barolo in the appellation laws. That never happened, but Langhe Nebbiolo is a concept that follows that same idea: you get great Nebbiolo quality at a fraction of the price. Today, Langhe Nebbiolo is one of the fastest-growing categories in the entire wine region. This beautiful vintage, with its balanced fruit and freshness, is a perfect example.--93pts Wine Advocate

Camp Sonoma County Red
2016 - CAMP Red is a blend of 68% Sonoma Valley Zinfandel, 16% Suisun Valley Cabernet, and 16% Potter Valley Syrah. The color has an inky, intense velvet red robe. Aromas are fresh, buoyant and full of macerated strawberries, black raspberry, plum and blueberries. A mouth coating, rich red berry, fruit filled palate that has a savory texture and silky finish to the last drop. This plush, rich red would pair nicely with a barbecue pork loin, sesame soy marinated tuna grilled, or a crispy duck cracklings salad.

Huchu Homare- Watari Bune Junmai Gingo 55 300ml
Watari Bune is the name of the rice varietal used to make this sake. It is a rice strain that was used with great enthusiasm in the 1920's and 30's because of the wonderful sake it made. Overall lively and bright, fruity with some funky aromas and flavors. Over-ripe musk melon on palate, bright white peach in finish. Serve chilled with monkfish liver (ankimo), considered the foie gras of the sea. Also delicious with duck and other game served with berries.

Corte Giacobbe Soave
2018 -Straw yellow with pale green highlights. On the nose, multi-faceted fragrances of ripe melon and yellow orange, jasmine and chamomile complement pungent rosemary and mountain-grown hay. Appealing and well-balanced on the palate, with lingering, aromatic melon and citrus that push through to a crisp finish hinting of dried almond. It displays a vibrant vein of minerality, gift of its valley terroir of origin. Ideal served by itself as an aperitif wine, and delicious partnered with first courses, lighter meats, fish, and vegetables.

Domaine De Fontsainte Corbiere Rouge
2018 - 60% Carignan, 30% Grenace, 10% Syrah. A sustained and very brilliant ruby color with beautiful violet tints. Immediate and generous with, at first, notes of fresh red fruits, such as cherries and black fruits, such as blueberries. Next, the richness develops with notes of cacao powder and a delicate touch of licorice. Round and concentrated attack with a balanced structure in the mouth, the tannins are delicate and the acidity luscious. Everything showcases the fruit, which follows up with a long finish. Ideal with a mushroom tart, grilled mullet with red fruits, yakitoris or a braised red meat.

Chateau Smith Cabernet
2016 - A lot of the full-bodied Cabs out there are either full of themselves or just full of it. Not Chateau Smith. It stays true to the old-world winemaking style from Bordeaux and honest to everyone who drinks it. And while we don’t actually have a chateau…this award-winning dry Cabernet Sauvignon is 100% the real deal. From the first aromas of black fruit, pencil lead and forest floor, you’re in for something special. This is a benchmark of dry Pacific Northwest Bordeaux-esque Cabernet Sauvignon—with intense flavor, depth and complexity.

Vinedo De Los Vientos Estival
2018 - This wine is a blend of 60% Gewurztraminer, 30% Chardonnay, and 10% Moscato Bianco from the estate vineyard. The nose is actually more subdued then I would think having such aromatic grapes but still has ripe notes of lemon zest, white peach, and green apple all woven together with white flowers, baking flour, and yellow chartreuse. The palate shows medium viscosity with crisp acidity and the wine finishes with notes of candied peach and fresh sliced lemons.

Mount Eden Chardonnay "edna Valley"
2017 - A beautifully expressive nose of baked apples, fresh honey, lemon, orange citrus and tropical notes. At the core there's a lively saline minerality that is surrounded and textural that elevates a rich, well balanced palate of fruit. If you are looking for the quality and depth of a great Burgundy for half the price, here's your Chassagne for less than $20. Pleasurable in the glass by itself, or definitely can handle the richness of Dungeness Crab, lobster, langostines or smoked squab.--Finn

Karl Erbes Riesling Spatlese Urziger Wurzgarten
2019 - The 2019 Ürziger Würzgarten Riesling Spätlese is precise yet still reductive on the clear, pure and spicy-elegant nose. Intense and juicy on the palate, this is a sweet yet piquant and crystalline, very elegant and persistent Würzgarten Spätlese with remarkable grip, finesse and tension. It is very stimulating and has lots of vegetal and herbal notes on the aftertaste. Tasted at the domain in September 2020.--94pts Wine Advocate

Ridge Vineyards Chardonnay
2018 - Coming all from the estate Monte Bello Vineyard, the 2018 Chardonnay Estate offers a medium gold hue as well rocking notes of caramelized apples, white flowers, honeysuckle, and crushed rocks. These all carry to a medium-bodied Chardonnay with bright acidity, a focused, chiseled texture, terrific minerality, and just a kiss of background oak. It's going to benefit from 4-5 years of bottle age and have two decades of longevity, if not longer.-- 95pts Jeb Dunnuck

Southern Right Sauvignon Blanc
2019 - The 2019 Southern Right Sauvignon Blanc underwent a small natural ferment in barrel. It has quite a punchy nose, the nettle, gooseberry and Granny Smith apple aromas storming from the glass. The palate is fresh and lively on the entry. As usual, this is a somewhat uncompromising Sauvignon Blanc with pungent bell pepper and light asparagus notes, good weight and a tangy, marmalade-tinged finish whose residual salinity beckons you back for more. Montauto Pinot Nero
2017 - The nose is intense and persistent, the first notes are of balsamic and delicate hints of red fruits, such as wild strawberries, that make the bouquet more harmonious, and light notes of spices. In the mouth, it is enveloping, intense and with good persistence. The tannins are balanced and smooth,spicy and fine notes on the finish give the wine softness and character. Balance, finesse, character and elegance are the typical elements of this Pinot Noir.--Winemaker

Pikasi Barbera
2018 - This youthful unoaked barbera is showing lots of depth and expression. Rich aromas of cherry, raspberry and blackberry with white pepper and a touch of fennel lead to a slightly salty and bitter palate with plenty of weight and substance. This is a casual wine meant to be drunk young, but, given some time, it will likely develop and mature into a seriously complex wine in a year or two, even in screwcaps. Pair it with casual fare, bring it to a BBQ! It will go nicely with burgers, ribs, sausages, steak, kebabs and also pizza.

Garciarevalo Finca Tres Olmos Verdejo
2019 - As Jimi asked, "Are you experienced?". Well this is an experience not to be missed. Hailing from 130-145yr head pruned pre-phylloxera vines grown in a sandy, ancient sea bed. A concentrated, exotic white wine in the bottle. Very unique aromas of jasmine tea, citrus, tangerine, apricot and baking spices. A balanced wine on the palate, silky fruit texture, minerals, exotic fruits and complex finish. A wine for a premier chefs dinner of a Portuguese Fish Stew, Zarzuela de Mariscos or seafood Paella.---Finn

Granbazan Albarino Etiqueta Verde
2022 - A beautifully bright white wine in the glass that delivers signature aromas of white peach, apricot, champagne mango, Kaffir lime with a vibrant edge and classic mineral note. On the palate the wine delivers incredible tension and focus, a 'WHOA' intense flavor of tropical fruits, fresh acidity, great minerality and crisp, dry finish. There's no better pairing with a fresh seafood ceviche or chilled marinated mussels. A classic with a plate of oysters on the half shell or served next to a nice cheese board with a triple cream and a Spanish Cabrales. --Finn

Pablo Fallabrino Arneis/chardonnay
2020 - Fresh, upfront aromas of apple blossom, peach and green pear are intermingled with raw almonds, white flowers and smoky minerals. Density is instantly felt on the palate as the fresh fruit characters dance across your tongue, ending with a crisp, flavorful finish. This is a great conversational wine that is enjoyable in the glass by itself, as an aperitif or pair it with a slow baked chicken, flounder w/ a lemon tarragon brown butter sauce, or a creamy alfredo pasta dish.--Finn

2021 - 100% Organic. The color is a translucent garnet to cranberry color. Aromas of bramble berry, wild raspberry, red currant, pomegranate, wild flower, fresh rosemary, baking spices and forest. A beautiful weight to palate, layers of flavor yet has lift and freshness. Pleasantly complex without weighing down the palate. An excellent wine to enjoy with simple preparations of grilled meats, bolognese sauce, pesto pasta, or roasted game birds.--Finn 91pts Vinous

Arnaud Lambert Saumur Champigny Terres Rouges
2020 - The fruit is all certified organic. In the glass the wine reveals a dark red velvet robe with a blue-ish rim. A pleasant, brambly, earthy aromas of black cherry, blackberry, elderberry, mulberry, violets, rosemary and white pepper. Raised in stainless steel tanks gives this wine more lift, freshness, elegance on the palate, focusing the red berry fruits, floral notes and 10pt landing on the finish. The winery claims that this is their number one glass pour wine in restaurants. A definite show stopper for dinner guests to enjoy with red curry dishes, grilled pork/pork belly, barbecue, tomato sauce dishes or anything with earthy spices i.e. sage, rosemary, oregano and thyme.--Finn

Francios Et Julien Pinon Petillant Naturel Brut
2020 - 50% Côt (Malbec)/50% Grolleau. This sparkling méthode ancestrale rosé is Pinon's only non-Chenin wine, made from black grapes planted by François Pinon's father in order to supply their workers with red wine. There is only 1 hectare, so production is small. Two weeks into its fermentation with natural yeasts in vat, the wine is bottled and finshes in about two more weeks. The bottles are disgorged in April after the vintage and receive no dosage.

Cline Farmhouse Red, California
2021 - Farmhouse red is a mash up of a healthy dose of Zinfandel with Syrah, Carignan, Grenache and Mourvedre. A pleasant inky red that explodes upfront with aromas of red plums, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries backed by cocoa and vanilla. A well rounded palate, lush with a berry basket of fruits, soft on the finish. The bottle comes with a twist top so it is ready to go whenever the notion hits you for pizza night, kicking it with a movie, party with friends or just some me time.--Finn
