Tried out Shakers restaurant at Houghen Lake for the first time. The place was packed, but we managed to get a table. The beef stew was so good that I couldn't finish it all and had to take some home. The two-piece chicken basket my husband ordered was a generous portion for a great price, and we were impressed with the friendly service.

My husband got the wallet dinner for $13 very large portions and good for. I had nacho's they were so so. Had I known thay were maid with the processed nacho cheese I would have made a different choices but they were still good. Excellent menu, great service. We had a 15 minute wait, well worth it.

On a vacation day. Should be enjoyable! Went to shakers for breakfast. Wait for our table - no big deal. Waited 20 minutes for a waitress in total took 50 minutes to get two eggs. Very bad

The person that said the place smells like smoke and they had hight prices must be on drugs. The place in very nice and the prices are the best in Houghton Lake and so is the food.

great food !!will be back.. service was excellent !!!best place in town to waitress was very friendly and pleasant . dont hesitate to go there !!owner is very nice . i had a bad experience at another place in town called Garretts got tired of the bad food and service and owner did nothing . him and his girlfrienf / waitress were so rude !!!!

Great place to eat. They no longer have smoking so it's much nicer. The staff are all friendly. The food is very good. We eat there all the time.

The food was just absolutely divine from what I had previously tasted. Service was wonderful and they were always on top of things at Shaker's. I will definitely go back.

Nice place if you like smoke smells, high prices, and SO CALLED homemade food !! A piece of pie is $3.95 and its frozen not even good !!!!
From what I hear the owners daughter has taken it over, and she was trained in doing hair. !! Speaking of hair...make sure you check your food close !!!!!!
