Thanks to the person who clarified the two bars my dad visited on our way North-- Darcy's ( I knew) & Duffy's ( I forgot).

Excellent food! We look forward to our annual trip to Michigan and visiting the Ugly Bar for at least one good meal during vacation here! Love the friendly service and the food is always great.

Ok John if you insist on writing bad reviews please make aure ypu check your history before. The Darcy's bar and the Elkhorn are completely seperate since the Elkhorn burned down some 40 years ago. The bar built in the Elkhorn's place was then called Duffy's. Also Denise not Denitta did the art work and if you close the building is only asthetically ugly, I seen the painting process and she put in a lot of work to male a freshly painted building look run down. Now as far as the bartender and her boyfriend I will agree there was sometimes visible indifferences between them but neither of them work there any longer. In closing, the food is spectacular, the waitstaff if top notch, the entertainment is great and aside from the obnoxious patron who thinks he's the only customer in the world the experience at the Ugly is one worth checking out

Im was born and raised in Vanderbilt and have seen bars change names and looks from Darcy's to Duffy's to the Old Elk Horn. Im a very educated man and left Vanderbilt right after high school. Its depressing to come back go into what is now called The Ugly Bar and Grill, who I know a friend of mine had a lot to do with the artwork (love ya Denitta!). The first visit was pleasant but that was the only one. There is a younger red headed bar tender that has a boyfriend that just lurks on the side of the bar and both cause problems and are just rude but put a fake smile on when management is around. They haven't caused me any problems but I have seen them two in action. I have too many complaints about the place to continue to list but the one good thing is at least Vanderbilt still has a bar after the White Wolf closing. I wish it would open back up but under different ownership. Be careful and count your drinks when in The Ugly Bar and grill, especially if your not a local.
