We just left Cracker Barrel. My family and I have been eating morning breakfast here across the US for over a decade.
In all my years of eating ANYWHERE I have never had such a TERRIBLE service experience.
We were a party of 6, everyone receives their plates.
Immediately we notice the smell of bad pork from the country ham. The ham also had the white film you notice when package meat goes bad. The table is all in agreement it needs to be sent back.
NO PROBLEM.
They come back with bacon served on the SAME PLATE! The bad ham was served on top of the eggs and hash brown casserole along with all of its JUICES!!
MISTAKES HAPPEN. We are an easy going family, always have been.
Our intent is NOT to take a free meal.
The rest of us were satisfied with our plates.
At this point, we request a manager. His name was John Weddle.
Our request was simple, a new plate for our dissatisfied member.
To our collective surprise, we received nothing but rebuttals.
1. He claims the Ham was supposed to smell like it did. Mind you, it STUNK!
2. He REFUSED to serve my father a new plate of eggs and hashbrown casserole
What did he expect us to do? The rest of us eat while my father watches?!
What would have been a SIMPLE solution turned into this.. a novel to all who made it this far explaining how we inevitably left WITHOUT eating 6 of the 8 plates.
We were forced to pay $83.94 in full at the expense of ONE bad piece of ham.
My family will never step foot in a Cracker Barrel again.
