My son and I stopped in for some food, beverage and Monday Night Football. It was in late November, just before Thanksgiving. Having been around the area on weekends for 25 or more years, I knew what to expect with "during the week service". This is when the locals are in the bar and as usual preferred treatment/service. We asked the bartender if he was able to put the game on t.v. He said at 8:00 he would. I said the game started at 7:00 and he walked away. Holy cow this is a bar and not a an unusual request. After eating a decent meal and watching wheel of fortune, and two episodes of America's Funniest Videos it was obvious that football was not on the docket for the evening. What always rubs me the wrong way is when the owner of an establishment sits down at the bar drinks and let's his minions work while he acts like a big shot. Really.... this is McGregor Minnesota and a small time operation. We were courteous and thankful to the cook and bartender but after the owner laughed at a clip on t.v. stated "see isn't this a lot better than football. The comment was totally directed at us. What a pompous -ss. We then left after leaving a healthy tip for our servers and laughed about " how many years does this guy have left before he is out of business. Successful business's make it by one rule: the customer is always first. Avoid this place if you want to be treated with respect. Spend your money elsewhere.
