I recently visited a Chinese restaurant in Missoula for lunch on the weekend and had a delightful experience. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the ambiance was traditionally Chinese. The staff were friendly, and I look forward to returning in the future. The restaurant, China Garden, meets all my criteria for a great dining experience in Missoula.

First time at China Garden, the reviews I read were positive. I was aghast at what the food didn't taste like and what it did. The chicken friend rice was so bland- just rice and chicken and some small semblance of some other flavor-perhaps chicken broth? No vegetables, the smallest bits of rice I have seen used in cooking. It was so tasteless I figured it must be what you give a baby or toddler when they won't or can't have anything else on the menu.
The other items, regardless of what it was had very little flavor.The meat tasted like something but I can't say it was a taste I liked. Why and how they garnered praise for the food is astonishing but opinions are individual. Disappointed because finding options for asian cuisine is difficult in Missoula. We will keep looking.Oh, the staff was very nice. Missoula is a very friendly customer oriented place.
