Food was good, service was great, and the setting was quite nice. I would come back in a heartbeat, just don't get out to the area much.

Delicious food, great service, delightful setting.
My wife and I visited Galles on a Friday evening and had a wonderful experience. The grilled halibut was excellent and the homemade rolls and onion rings were mouth-watering. We took a couple pieces of pie home with us and the desserts topped-off the meal perfectly. :-)
We will definitely be returning with friends & family soon!!!

As you can tell, I only used my last name. wanna know why! because thats all i need to say to order the best thing i have put to hands around brisket basket! add extra pickle and sauce and I'm in love!!

Great food, reasonable prices, outstanding pies, nice building & interior for an old store-front. The brother & sister who operate the restaurant learned from a pro - their dad. Mainstays are their smoked meats - can't go wrong with chicken or ribs. Onion rings are finely sliced and are to die for. For dessert make sure you get a slice a pie, even if you have to get it to go!

When busy, service can be somewhat slow.

I have Galles just the other day for the first time, and i was blew away! First off the Welcoming young waitress's there to greet you when you first come in. Then the menu is filled with alot of opions to pick from!! I wanted to get everything on the menu since the prices are at a very great price, you can get a plate full of food for a lower price than the city prices by far!!!The cook Kirk Allison also the owner of Galles will come out and talk to you very kindly you never feel out of place at Galles and they dont just do BBQ they also have diffrent kinds of specials each day, thats what Cricket told me who helps run Galles. she makes great pies and cakes there as well!!
i really do plan on going to Galles agin as soon as possible.

I visited just a few days ago & had an amazing time. The food was EXCELLENT cooked by the owner 'Kirk Allison' boy, can he cook. 'Cricket Hough', the other owner, was very welcoming. My kids enjoyed the food & are always asking me to come back. It is a great family restaurant & i do plan on coming back soon. Holden wouldn't be the same without Galles. I recommend going there to everyone.

This was my fourth visit to the US.

I visited Galle's in Holden three times in September while staying in Missouri with a close friend.

It was first thought that being a vegetarian (I do eat fish!) that I would be disappointed, I wasn't. The deep fried mushroom starter was very good. The 'blackened' halibut was excellent.

The interior has a rather dark brooding authentic feel about it. I loved the 'no rush' ambiance of the place, which was reflected in the friendly service too. Everything on the menu seemed very good value to me.

I enjoyed every meal I had here, It was a delight to chat with owner, 'Cricket'. She made us feel very welcomed.

I hope to return again later this year ... just for the excellent food of course!!

I have eaten here many, many times and absolutely love the food, atmosphere, and friendliness!

I understand that almost everythng they serve is homemade...including the rolls, pies, and even the BBQ sauce. PLUS, the servings are huge compared to almost any other restaurant.

For a small town mainstreet restaurant this is an unexpected find. Gone twice in the last week. Makes for a nice ride if you want to get away from KC. Don't go if you're in a rush - the service is a bit slow but very friendly. The BBQ is very good. All of the meats are well smoked and lean. The sauce is thick, sweet, and smokey.

Excellent Food. Very busy on Friday and Saturday night - recommend go early on Fri. & Sat. by 6:00 PM or after 8:00 PM. Had 1/2 chicken and Chicken and Ribs and it was delicious. Lots of pies for dessert. Prime Rib on Sat. but were out by the time we ordered.

We have been there 3 or 4 times, the food is always consistent, never a bad meal. The young serving staff is good, but a little slow. Fairly good value, last visit I had the open face steak sandwich and it was a good value for the price, prepared as ordered and tasty,$8.05 Best place in Holden, clean and friendly with pleasant decor. Will continue to patronize.
