I would recommend only that if you do eat at this place and do not like any part of your meal…do not say a word unless you are ready to be verbally attacked…The owner apparently has several people complaining about his food…otherwise his reaction would not be so hostile and he would not verbally attack his customers..
Anxious
to try the new establishment in the area my boyfriend and I were greeted by an employee who stated that 2 waitresses called in so they were very short handed and you could see she was out of her element…As she let us know she was not a waitress. Knowing they were shorthanded and we were not in any hurry that was really not an issue. Tension was in the air. We were served salad and soup…which we both agreed was very good. Our main course arrived looking very good.
As
began to eat my fish I was alarmed at the appearance of the meat. It was tough and stringy…I was very concerned about eating raw fish. So picking on the fish I decided to send it back with the waitress as it was not edible. The meat on the fish had a very strange consistency. Not white and flaky as fish is intended to be consumed. The plate was returned stating the it was done and a thermometer was used to make that decision.
Again
I attempted to search for white meat that would be edible instead of the grey stringy consistency I was finding . We discussed the fact that maybe the fish was frozen when it was put into the fryer…because the outside did have a very good appearance. But as I proceeded past the crust the fluky white meat was not present…I did pick at the fish looking for some part to eat…but that was not to be found.
Telling the waitress the food was not edible she said they would adjust the bill. I stated the rest of the meal was good…but that my boyfriend did share his food with me. Which by the way was very good.
Shortly after the owner appeared and leaning over the table he angrily informed me and my boyfriend that the fish was done. And as he was raging it was clear we were not welcome back in his establishment. At which point he stopped talking long enough for me to say I would not be back..which he said he did not want me back.
As we went to pay…he continued to be hostile. I stated he was extremely rude…he began to rage again that people like me…I stated he did not know me…and then I began to understand his thinking…he was thinking I was wanting a free meal…he let me know he took a photo of the plate of food, and we were on camera as we were speaking to each other…and that he could charge me for the fish…which they did charge for the salad…with was OK with us. But the fish had been sent back he did nothing about it. I said if he wanted to eat the fish go for it…but it was not edible. The photos will show only that I picked at the fish bones and attempted to get meat off…but not that I was able to eat the meat. And picking at the fish is exactly what I did.
I informed him that I have never returned a plate of food and that I had never seen anyone treated the way he was treating us…all the while putting on a show for the other customers that we were after free food…we do not need his or anyone’s free food…we are totally capable of paying for our meals…
Being only 5 miles from the restaurant would have made it a nice place to enjoy a meal close to home…but the owner is EXTREMELY hostile…
NEVER AGAIN…

This place is MAGNIFICANT - the food - atmostphere, owner all of the above - the menu - we discovered you on a Wed and were back on Fri. with my daughter and her friend, will be back after the 4th again - have a condo only 15 minutes from you - we love all of you - and your food and prices cannot be beat.

Had the SAME experience as Tina (see first review written about this "church turned eatery".
The wait time between the waitress taking the order and getting the food was almost 3 hours!
I found the slow service too annoying to return to the restaurant although the food was decent.
They were busy and it was a Saturday night, but we arrived at 5 p.m. and apparently that is the peak time for people to arrive for dinner in the Ozarks, and a reasonable wait time for me would be 45 min. max.

Had reservations for 6p, was seated at 5:50 and then the process s..l..o..w..e..d down, way down. Did not get our food until 8:20. We are not impatient people but when everyone around us is being waited on, getting their food and leaving before we are even served does not seem to be "customer service". We did get free desserts which was a type of apology. The only one who was apologetic in person about out long wait was the hostess who seated us.
