I visited a McDonald's branch located at 640 Saint-Catherine St W, Montreal, Quebec H3B 1B8 and ordered a McWrap on 2020-03-15. When I received my order, the bread was molded on both sides. I've brought the food to the counter and asked to talk with the manager. I've shown the spoiled food to the manager and he just grabbed the food and destroyed it and removed his name tag asap. He did not even do a simple apology and claimed that these things just happen. I asked for a refund and he blackmailed me that he will only issue a refund when I remove the pictures. Obviously, when a restaurant does not take food safety seriously (especially in this COVID19 situation), me as a customer cannot trust the restaurant anymore. I insisted on getting a refund and the manager called the police on me. When the police showed up and heard the stories from both sides, they said it is a civil case and they cannot intervene. However, they asked the manager to do a refund and that was only then that the manager issued the refund. Unfortunately, such behaviour from the manager of a well-known fast food brand is totally not accepted and I personally have never been in such a situation with any other restaurant. Besides the food quality and safety, which should be at utmost importance to a restaurant, the unprofessional and disrespectful behaviour of the manager is super insulting. In fact, it does not only insult me as a single customer but also shows the customer-hostile practices of this restaurant.
