Hello, I am writing to tell about the most unforgettable experience that I have ever had at a restaurant. I will try to make this as brief as possible. Last night I visited Houstons in Aventura Florida. I frequently visit this restaurant because it is close to my job. I would say that I have eaten at a Houstons restaurant close to 100 times if not more. We put our name on the waiting list for a table of four. While we were waiting one more person joined us. After about an hour we were sat in a booth by the hostess. The waitress took our drink and appetizer order and everything was going great. Just after the waitress brought us our drink orders we were approached by the manager and told that we could not sit there because those tables are only for four people. We said that we did not mind, but he insisted that we had to move, but they had no tables available for at least 45 minutes. We insisted that it was not right that after sitting us, taking our drink and appetizer order to then make us move back to the bar to wait for an additional 45 minutes. I myself have been a manager for many years and the approach with situations like this should be to find a solution that satisfies both the needs of the customer and the needs of the establishment. In this particular case, your manager did not. Rather than find a solution, such as the next available five person table, he was insistent that we had to leave. We were upset and after several minutes the conversation between all parties involved was not pleasant. Your manager then proceeded to grab the drinks off the table and made a scene in the restaurant. He then called on the police to escort us out. My wife is four months pregnant. This was excessive and unnecessary. I have never received treatment in any restaurant like this in my life. I know this is not usual practice for Houston's and truthfully I will probably go there again, but I will probably mention this incident to whomever I am with every time I go. I had lunch there twice this week alone and made an attempt at dinner last night. This was an humiliating experience. This was poor decision making by your manager. I am surprised that somebody with his decision making skills is manager in one of your restaurants. One comment that I have always made is that all Houston's restaurants are consistent in all areas from the quality of the food, restaurant, establishment, employees, etc.. Please contact me at any time. I would like some feedback by both a customer service representative as well as the restaurants General Manager. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Danny Palenzuela

In response to Edgar p.. I
for one am glad that they do not allow children to run amok in the restaurant. Some adults think all adults around will they drink . Nonetheless, service is not always the best. They have team workers in place to prevent most slip ups, so usually service is at least good to maybe excellent at times. I enjoy the consistency of the food & I think they manage a casual yet considerate of others type of a policy.. Therefore, I never feel rushed or forgotten. I've been going for years & have seen the manager turnovers.. Some really were not that good but others fared professional for the most part

My family and I decided to celebrate my wife's birthday at Houston's Aventura because it was really our favorite place. The location is very convenient, we always considered it to be a family friendly atmosphere, and my older son especially loves the chicken burgers there. At the end of our incredible dinner , we ordered dessert, as I had previously mentioned it was my wife's birthday. My two year old son found this very exciting... and have to admit that is a very hyper kid, he laughed with great joy and even had us sing happy birthday again, so he may blow out the candles. Suddenly, Mr. Casey Friedrichs, manager on duty, arrived at out table with a serious expression on his face and unfriendly tone of voice asking if everything was ok?
We were all a bit confused of why he was asking but never the less, we're having such a great time we all smiled and said "yes, great, thank you!" His reply was "The people in the restaurant are complaining about your kids performance... there behavior is annoying and inappropriate for our restaurant." . We were all in a bit of shock.
Here was this "manager" who did not mention anything through out our dinner and suddenly comes with theserver, and our check in hand, nor introducing himself, excusing himself or even having the curtosy or manners to say something like "Happy Birthday. I'm so sorry to have to say this but..." We were left speechless. We had not noticed anyone around us being uncomfortable, in fact we were no louder then the tables around us.
Either way, what shocked me the most was the rude attitude this man portrayed, especially when my wife just finished of blowing the candle. I was so upset. Our appetite for the dessert disappered. i pay the bill and left.
