I booked the upstairs function room for my sisters surprise 40th birthday party. I had never been to Martha's but friends and family had been to the restaurant and rated the experience average to above average. Unfortunately, no one had attended a function in their upstairs facility or else maybe I would've been warned. The wait staff was rude to my guests and completely inefficient. 10 minutes into the buffet dinner there was no food to be found on the buffet and when I went to find the wait staff I found them texting on their cell phones in the kitchen. When the food was finally replenished it was cold, not luke warm, cold. Not only that but there wasn't enough cold food to go around. I ordered the buffet for 60 people, had 50 attendees and yet somehow we didn't have enough food. Even dessert was a debacle. I order apple pie for 50 guests. The wait staff brought out 10 pieces of pie, literally 10 pieces. When a guest requested more pie the wait staff told them to wait for the birthday cake. The birthday cake was something that I brought and paid for as an addition to the dessert options. The fact that there was also a birthday cake does not mean we should not have been served the apple pie for 60 people which I PAID FOR.

The worst part of the entire situation is I brought these issues to the attention of the function host, who was actually great to work with and asked her to discuss it with management. I even filled out the survey they sent me with all of the details of the nightmare of an experience and I heard from no one.

Net-net, if you want your guests to be treated with respect and them to enjoy a warm fulfilling meal, DO NOT have your function at Martha's Exchange in Nashua, NH.

having boycotted Martha's a few years back because of mediocre food and poor service, I tried it again for dinner last week. the food was still mediocre and the service was worse. the waitresses were acting very unprofessional behind our table in the prep area and were nowhere to be found when we needed something. most disappointing was the tiny glass of wine and what had to be a 3 oz pour - for $7.00. too bad, it's a nice downtown establishment, sort of a landmark, but that's not enough.

Not what I was looking for. I was looking for a nice restaurant down town. The only thing they have in common with the others is the high prices. The food was fair at best and it was the waitresses 1st day (I hope). The beer was good but not worth going back. I would suggest trying someplace, anyplace else.

I've give this place a couple of tries and i'm done for sure. The plates are too expensive for the food you get in quality and quantity. The last time i was with friends there we left a cash tip and they still charged my C.C. for the tip after we left! That was the last straw. They were lucky they got anything. I wouldn't recommend this place!

Martha's should go back to their old menu, The portions are incredibly small, and they're trying to make it an "upscale" dining experience in a bar. Just doesn't work and the food is definitely not worth the price. It's just average.

Went there recently off-peak over the weekend and the food was very good and had a gone a bit upmarket from its regular American food of previous years.
Jambalaya was the best I've ever eaten.
Special appetizer of yucatan chicken skewers was also excellent.

Lettuce in my salad was dirty - with sandy grit when chewing. Yuk! Everything else was very ordinary. Not my kind of place - but seems to do well with the crowd - go figure.

Very average food, a very average scene and not cheap prices make this a very just-OK kind of place to eat. Unfortunately people at my work always want to eat there. I've had cold food, lukewarm service, incorrect orders and uninspired, sometimes bad food. If it were up to me, I would never return. There is much better food at a much better value within blocks. My advice? Keep walking.

Food is very good! Bar crowd can be loud on occasion but that's part of the charm.

Food is very good. If you go on a weekend night expect it to be packed and loud!
