Restaurant Description

San Lucas Mexican Restaurant, on the 2600 block of Federal St. in Camden, is just such a destination.

Chef/owners Medina's Family have been in business for nearly fifteen years cooking authentic cuisine from Puebla.

The restaurant is set along a stretch from about 23rd Street to 35th that feels like a border town. Brightly colored buildings catch the eye and the sounds of mariachi bands spill into the street.

You'll be greeted by the jukebox that plays everything from Tejano to cumbia to salsa. It certainly sets the tone for what can only be called "La verdedera comida del ranchero." Real rancher meals, or the equivalent of Mexican soul food, if you will.

You'll also have some fried tortilla chips with a delicious salsa verde; Home made with cilantro and tomatillo; it is a divine inspiration delivered to your table.

I mean, the food can be good but one day I had to wait 1 30 for 3 things.
Then for the tamales, its happened to me 2 times.
But i still recomend it

San Lucas is by far my favorite Mexican spot in South Jersey. Great enchiladas, burritos y tacos. Fresh juice and amazing tamales. The area is Camden but I always feel safe at San Lucas. They also cater my dad's 60th Birthday and everybody loved the food!!!

Very authentic and delicious. Located on a main street. The chili relleno was awesome. This place is a hidden gem. Highly recommended for any Mexican food lover!
