Long Beach Island offers an impressive seafood takeout experience, particularly on Taco Tuesday, where the spicy scallop tacos stand out. The fresh fish and friendly service create an enjoyable atmosphere for dining, whether you choose to eat outside or take your meal home.

Awesome!
06/12/2016 - Michael Vnucak
We had lunch at 2:00 or so on Friday, 6/10/16. Our daughter had recommended it based on a very positive dinner experience she had there a couple years ago when she had broiled scallops. We found that the lunch menu only allowed for fried or grilled scallops, not broiled, so we (myself, wife, and daughter) each got the scallop platter grilled. The scallops were dried out and small, and my order definitely had a bit of an off taste, not quite the ammonia like taste one gets from old scallops or other fish. About ten minutes after the meal while driving back to Ship Bottom, my lips started to tingle and burn, a pretty sure sign of paralytic shellfish poisoning which I only recall encountering once before about 20 years ago. My wife and daughter did not have the symptoms, but they agreed that the scallops had a funny taste, thinking it was because they were grilled. They symptoms subsided after about 3 hours, and there were no other associated symptoms, such as nausea or diarrhea. Very disappointing to say the least, especially after being told how fresh your scallops were and talking to several commercial fisherman there when we visited on Thursday. Perhaps, the ones I had were contaminated in some way, but I doubt the truthfulness that the scallops we were served were fresh, but rather left over from perhaps the previous week's business.
