carrie - you must be very young or you dont get out much. Did you look at your account again a few days later as the charge to your account "trues up", with the actual amount being charged? What happened was called "over-authorization" which is very common with restaurants because their credit card companies lock a little extra in your account to allow room for a tip. It is a poor business practice but most CC processing companies force that upon the business because their systems are poorly designed. There are other CC processing companies that dont do that but many restaurants are simply unaware of the problem JUST AS YOU WERE. After all, we are all human and dont know everything. Even businesses can be victimized by their vendors. Did you call Pizza Pasta to discuss before posting this complaint? I'm sure they would have been able to explain it to you. But in the future "buyer beware", this practice is common.

The bill was $36.21 and they charged my debit card $40.00 - WOW never in my life have I had that happen
