Why any restaurant in 2020 would have carpet is beyond thinking.
The prices on menu would /should allow updates. Shame.

No smiles, just detached and professional, lacking warmth, cold stiff judgmental vibe

Ignorant waiter... condescending false and unaware I have been to 5 star restaurants all over the world. He kept saying this is a five star restaurant.
No kidding, thank you for the insult. I had a hearing and vision issues I expressed that.. he was imperceptive and insensitive we almost left. The owner was nice enough to fines the situation.
That said, despite the false arrogance and pretense. (No countess or counts here)

Food great
atmosphere tense unwelcoming. You never know who your customers are. Being gracious is something you have intrinsically but not acquired.

Had a gift certificate that i had won back in 2002- there was no expiration date-Had Novelli's name on it-sat in a file for all these years until some friends said they had one lets go together-so we pooled it together and looked forward to a night out - it ended on a sour note because the certificate wasnt honored because it had changed owners(did we know that) any good business person would have said "I'm sorry we cant honor this but how about i buy you a round of drinks - or let me take the dessert off" It was a flat no from the owner herself-will never go back-over priced-cold atmosphere
