We ate dinner at Buona Sera Italian Restaurant in Haskell and I do not usually review a restaurant, but after our experience and the reaction from the owner, I feel inclined.

First, we like to eat local and support our local businesses as much as possible, especially after COVID. Last night we thought we would try Buona after I went to a holiday party and shower there last year and felt it was delicious, I wanted husband to try it.

We arrived at 6pm and did not leave until close to 8pm, the restaurant was not overly busy, maybe five tables. The service was by the owner and one other staff, he was taking the orders. We asked the staff if we could have our order taken after 20 minutes and she asked the owner since he was busy at another table. She was very nice and took the order. We received our salads, bread and delicious olives. Around 7 I asked the owner where our entrees were after seeing other tables who were seated after us getting their food before us. (40 minutes) He was rude to me and argued that appetizers came out first (not really sure what that meant, but we did not order any.)

We had to ask for refills on our coffee and tea.

My husband ordered Chicken Franchise and I ordered Chicken Parmigiana. When it did finally come out 10-15 minutes later, we thought the meals were tasty and told the owner as much. As I continued to eat the center of the chicken was not done and I did not dare complain to the owner after he was rude to me before.

We were asked if we wanted dessert, but after seeing they were served from boxes and not made in house, I passed.

We agreed we would not be back.

I did post a review on Facebook and it was negative, the owner posted my pictures from his security camera and said I must like to complain. No sir, I usually give restaurants a second chance, they may have a bad night, but I will not be spoken to they way you spoke to me last night. I also was appalled you posted my pictures from your security camera so I would take my review down!

The $55 we spent wasn't worth the hassle! There are better restaurants out there!

I received a gift certificate. I was having a party and I figured I would order a tray of eggplant Rollatini to use it. asked how much would it be. He said $50 cash. I said I have a gift certificate. Then he said it's $100. I said never mind. Then I ordered 2 dinners for takeout. The owner was so put off when I took it out to pay.He said wait a minute and left me standing there. Someone paid money to get that certificate. He acted like I was robbing him. Don't ever buy anyone a gift certificate there. It was a really awkward experience and the dinners were only edible.

Neb (owner) is wonderful ordered take out for my birthday I asked for a special meal not on menu it was perfect exactly what I wanted to get something special on a Saturday night most restaurants would not do it !! Neb did it to perfection. As always delicious thank you neb u made my birthday special.

I miss going to this restaurant, but I am so happy they have take out.. Great prices, great people, support them. Order once per week. You wont need to cook and food is amazing.. Be there for them now, so they can be there fir us later..!!💕💕
