I have been living in Woodbridge for over 2 years but would go all the way to union city and Elizabeth to get some Spanish food, especially Cuban sandwiches. I had just found out about this place less than 15 mins from me. I'm kicking myself for not knowing about it sooner. The food is delicious and the owner was such a nice person. I got there as they were closing, she still welcomed me in and showed me what was available as they were shutting down. Everything looked so good, ended up ordering 2 Cuban sandwiches, a combo w oz and beans/rice, and another tray of the beef stew w beans and rice... My wife has never had Cuban food other then the Cuban sandwiches, and she loved everything. This place is definitely worth checking out.

I had the Cuban sandwich today for lunch and Ive never ate such a delicious sandwich i don't know how much ham or pork they put in it but the taste was amazing pork is very well seasoned and I couldn't finish it because it was so big, I got my monies worth and more.I will definitely be going back and trying other dishes, so far best food in town I'm loving it! will post further as i keep trying.

Nothing special, my Cuban sandwich looked like it was rationed. Only one slice of ham so thin that I shook my head in disappointment. They are cutting corners on quality instead of putting out a top notch sandwich. The rice and beans looked like if it was hanging around for hours, very mushy. The picadillo was not that bad but they need to go easy on the salt, a little too much. The platanos were the best part of my meal but were a little too much on the dark side. I paid $18.00 which is way too much for the poor substandard food I received. This is why Portuguese Restaurants in the area do so well because they provide great food at a modest price point. I was so excited to try La Cocina Latina and came away very very disappointed. I will continue to go to Elizabeth for Cuban food and will stick with the Clark BBQ for a great local eatery. I hope that the owners see this and listen to my advice.

This restaurant is tiny and unassuming, but packs a ton of authentic Cuban food into its kitchen. We've eaten there half a dozen times and have never been disappointed. We've had the ox, pork (lechon asado), ropa vieja, pollo, yuca, maduros, arroz con gris, cuban sandwiches, and all of it has been amazing! My husband is Cuban and he says it's the closest to his mom's cooking that he's ever had. Plus, the prices are low and the place is super clean!
