GOOD FOOD FRIENDLY SERVICE

As front line workers, and frankly as decent human beings, my husband and I chose not to host a wedding with 100+ guests. We would never host a super-spreader event. We asked to reschedule, you would not give us days of the week or dates that were comparable, even refusing to look into the 2022 year. We have lost family members from covid, and holding money hostage because you can't bring yourself to do the right thing is disgusting. Doing us a favor by giving us our second deposit back is no reason to not give us our 1st deposit back. We have over 500,000 deaths in the USA, why isn't this sinking in? It's not like you already set up the venue or prepared the food. We gave you MONTHS notice. The vegetables that you would be using to serve at dinner probably weren't even grown at that point. I hope you are happy.

February 2020, we contracted The Carriage House, in Galloway NJ, in good faith for a wedding ceremony and reception for January 2021. Then the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic began. New laws and restrictions were being imposed limiting the capabilities of having the wedding at all.
We asked to postpone, tried rescheduling, suggested alternatives, to which they were not agreeable. Sadly, they left us with no choice but to cancel our wedding. All we did was give them a $2000.00 deposit to hold the date. We gave them almost a year’s notice. They did nothing and they lost nothing. Disgustingly, they refused to refund the initial deposit of $2000.00.
Since then and currently, the pandemic has worsened, there are stringent CDC guidelines, over 500,000 deaths in the US, the ongoing flu season, not everyone vaccinated, limited indoor dining, mask requirements, social distancing restrictions, social gathering constraints, travel bans and the laws specifically governing New Jersey, including no dance floors allowed.
Our original wedding date has passed and we now are certain they would have never been able to have had our planned wedding; nor would anyone safely been able to attend. They acted in bad faith. We were taken advantage of. We sent letters and emailed their entire team from the President on down, never one response, FROM ANYONE!! They still have our deposit!! Shame on them!! HALF A MILLION PEOPLE HAVE DIED!!!!!
