The restaurant's rustic wooden interior and smoked out windows added a nice touch. The steak was perfectly cooked with a deep smokey flavor, though not the best I've had.

GOOD FOOD FRIENDLY SERVICE

The BBQ/smoked food was good for the area but the prices are not honestly represented. Even when you ask the server, they do not give you the actual price. For instance, when asking for take out of smoked mixed meets we were told $60 for what we wanted then the register said $125, turns out it was $60 per pound, when the manager spoke to us , his answer was "what's the big deal, 60, 125? Such a little difference why the big deal?" So I said "GREAT!!! I'm glad you feel that way, here's $60 , give me our take home, what's $65, right?".. needless to say he didn't like his own reasoning. And our now annual get together will be outside of Lakewood as we hear this is not uncommon for that entire area.

My wife and I recently went to Smokey Hill with a group of 4. I must say that the ambiance was great and the food was delicious. One of us wanted to order some ribs so the waitress noted that the ribs dishes were $68 and $48 respectively. We asked about the price a second time and again the waitress noted 48 for the baby back ribs which we ordered. (prices for ribs were not on the menu). Upon receiving the bill, we were all quite surprised that the baby back ribs were priced at $115. Upon questioning the price of the ribs, a manager came by and explained it was $48 PER POUND. We told the manager that despite asking twice, the waitress never said the words "per pound" and just said $48. We subsequently spoke to Hillel the manager and he chose to believe the waitress who definitely omitted the words "per pound" despite what she told him. He later asked us why we were so concerned about the $67 difference and why we were making a big deal out of it. Had they just admitted the error we all would have gone back again but not anymore. This is called "not seeing the forest for the trees" and the restaurant can be renamed to RIBS and FIBS.
