Top Reviews of Mano's Po-Boy

Had dinner Saturday night with my family including 4 adults and 2 kids. I had heard from a couple of people about how nice the new Mano's was, so decided to give them a try. The first thing that struck me was how well lit, clean, and big the parking lot was. Once inside I was glad to find that there was a lot of room in this place and everything looked new and clean. It was about an hour before closing time and the restaurant was still about half full.

The menu selection is very big with a huge selection of italian, seafood, po-boys, salads, breakfasts, and fancy deserts, etc. Our order was taken right away and the food arrived fast as well. Noise level was not loud, and this is important to me since there are some restaurants that I will not go back to because of ringing-ears by the time I leave. The serving sizes were generous for all dinners we got. (I could not believe how big the child's plate was! It was for ages up to 12 years old but the hamburger was huge and the fries filled up the rest of this big plate. It could have easily been sold as an adult size dish).

I had the angel hair spaghetti and meatballs dish. The 2 big meatballs had a great spicy flavor and the sauce was exceptional. It was one of the best meatball dishes I have ever had! Others at my table also had Italian pasta dishes (with spaghetti w/ chicken parmesan, spaghetti and veal parmesan, and spaghetti and eggplant parmesan).Everyone was very happy with their dish and everyone but myself could not finish their huge portions and left with 2-go boxes for the next day.

The prices were very reasonable with most dishes under $10 and the remaining priced up to $16.99 for their seafood platter. A Chisesi ham and cheese po-boy will run you $7.99 for an 11 incher, and red beans and pork chop or sausage dinner $8.99. The latter will probably be what I try next... (just to establish a good base line).

The only negative thing that I should mention was minor, and management can easily fix if they see this. There was a group of about 10 men outside in front of the entrance door making it awkward to exit. Not sure, but they seemed to be there to pick up workers that would be getting off soon, or maybe they worked there themselves. They did not appear to be customers. Anyway, getting a big wiff of Marlborough cig smoke and trying to decide if you should walk in-between the guys or go around them was not what you want to experience at the end of a nice dining experience.

Regardless of that last second experience, our family will be back... the food, menu, service, and facility were that good and I have no problem giving them a full 5 star rating as a great neighborhood restaurant that loves the Saints.
