Thoroughly disappointed. I've been anxiously awaiting their return. My first time in New Orleans since they resumed production & I bought 8 pies to take home. Crust too thick & tastes like a doughnut. Soft, not crispy like the old pies. Amount of filling was inadequate particularly with that thick crust.
I'm not saying that I won't try them again, but they need to improve for me to be a regular customer like I was before their factory burned.
I really hope the owners revise their production process on the crust & the crust to filling ratio so that the new Hubig's pies will return to being as delicious as they were in the past.

Hubig pies NOT the same. The dough is hard not light and flakey like the original ones. The Lemon filling is watery & runny. There is way too much glaze also, they use to be litely dipped.

These are not the Hubig Pies of the past. The dough is thick and dense, way too heavy. The filling is tasty, but not enough in the pie. Outside the pie use to have crytal sugar, which use give the taste an extra boost of sweetness. Use to love the original pies from old. Sad that the owners who are bringing back a New Orleans original/favorite missed the mark. Nothing like the original Hope Hubigs can get the pie back to it old standard, until then I will pass on the NEW recipe and hope Hubigs can tweak the new recipe to replicate the old recipe. Where as the new fans of the pie may think the new pies are great, but miss the old mark.

Although I thoroughly enjoyed having Hubig Pies back on the market,the crystal like sugar was missing,as was the dough being too heavy. If Hubig is gonna make the right comeback it's gonna need that original what we remember ingredients.
Crystal sugar sprinkle and less dough.

I remember these from when I was little love the egg custard and lemon pies. But they were all great.
