We had a wonderful experience at the Upstairs Grill yesterday. Our waiter, Harris, was kind, helpful, and friendly. The food was delicious, and the cozy atmosphere made us feel right at home. We will definitely be returning to the Upstairs Grill in the future.

LET THE DINER BEWARE
Up to beautiful Lake Placid once more for Columbus Day weekend. Saturday evening we would take a pleasant family dinner together at Upstairs Grill Steak & Seafood. Alas, other plans were lying there in store for us. Overpriced lukewarm insipid faire with a subterfuge of menu charges bordering on confidence tricks including adding 4% credit card surcharge. But most politely we summoned the ownership both to address & correct this matter then soon only to be assailed by a brazen classless & vulgar 'restaurateur' void of any & all civility or manners. Well dear reader, dine here if you will, but as a seventy-eight year old veteran & senior citizen I find it preferable to vote with my feet & eat elsewhere when up here in the North Country where I have vacationed almost annually since the 1940s, when first as a child camping at Fishcreek Pond with my late parents.

We went there for lunch today. The waitress proceeded to drop a coke all over one of us - this coke not only soaked the pants of this person but also spilled into a bag of recently purchased clothes and blankets. The waitress cleaned the table of the soda and gave us dirty rags to try and get the coke off our our merchandise. At no time was there an inquiry to if the stuff was ruined We set the merchandise on a chair at the empty table behind us to dry. About 5 minutes later we where asked to remove the stuff from that chair because they wanted to seat someone at that table. The restaurant was 90% empty but they needed this table. At no time did a manager come speak to us about any of this. The waitress stopped speaking to the guest who wore the coke. At no time was any compensation offered and our bill was given to us in full. We paid the bill but let no tip. When leaving the restaurant once the waitress realized we had not left her a tip she proceeded to give me dirty looks never again will we step foot in this place again.
