From the inside out, to the disgruntled employees to the mediocre food we received, this place is not worth the reviews they have been getting. Our basic pepperoni pizza looked like it was thrown together by a kindergartner and the pepperoni left a bad chemical after taste. They do not make gloves so maybe from some cleaning stuff on their hands? My next door neighbor's kid worked there (he said the money wasn't worth the toxic work environment, they gave perks for good reviews and they paid people to dispute the bad ones) Support the pizzerias who have been here longer, know how to serve good food and how to treat people the right way.

Eta Pie is by far the best pizza in Ithaca. I grew up in New Haven, Connecticut, a pizza mecca (Frank Pepe's, Sally's, Modern, etc ) so I've had a lot of experience with amazing pizza. Eta Pie absolutely cuts no corners in either quality or quantity of ingredients. The Margherita pizza that one reviewer derided is one of the best I've ever had anywhere. The authentic San Marzano tomatoes are sweet and delicious...a much better (and probably a costlier) choice than sliced domestic hothouse tomatoes. The fresh mozzarella is creamy and delicious and the fresh basil is just that, fresh. I like to add bacon and onion as extra toppings on mine. The owner, a Cornell Hotel School grad turned corporate lawyer, is always gracious and friendly. The other staff are equally helpful and service oriented. My understanding is that they pay better than other restaurants....my friend's high school age son works there part time and quite incredibly gets paid $23.00 an hour. So, the food is amazing, the staff terrific and they have done the west end community a real favor by transforming a location that used to be a blight on the neighborhood into a real gem.

I always want to give a new place a try. Nobody in the parking lot or in the place itself should have been my first sign. There were two guys there who didn't even say hello when we entered. The food tasted like the cheap amount we paid for it. I went with one star because honestly, they do not seem interested in their customers or a desire to make their food look presentable. It just looked sloppy. I wouldn't even recommend watching them make it.

We are extremely disappointed in the food and the service we received. They first agreed that it was their fault, then they implied they weren't and began blaming it on the delivery company. I was willing to say ok to the food being cold, but it also didn't taste good. The wings were small and dried out. The pizza was under cooked. No thank you. Everyone makes mistakes, but treating people poorly is a choice.

This is the best pizza I've had in Ithaca, by far! The crust is perfect, crispy and just thin enough. The choice of so many toppings, so many extras and numerous delicious sauces and options for cheese, allows a customer to design their own personal favorite or choose a chef's creation. My husband loves all the options for vegans and I have tried several different sauces, many of the toppings, and cheese, and have loved every one.

I am writing to respond to Brian Hamilton's review. First, I'm not entirely sure you are not someone purposefully aimed at lowering the overall rating of our restaurant because everything about your review screams of inauthenticity. But, in the event you are an actual dissatisfied customer, let me make some corrections to your misunderstandings about the pizza. First, we don't sell a margherita (that is how it is properly spelled) pizza, we sell a Napoli pizza which is our twist on the margherita. If you read the description of this pizza, it is made with San Marzano tomatoes, not fresh sliced. San Marzano tomatoes are a specialty imported tomato from the San Marzano region of Italy packed in a can with no citric acid or preservatives. So, you are correct that to tomatoes are canned. With that said, San Marzano tomatoes are also the actual tomato used on an authentic margherita pizza. The fresh sliced mozzarella is Grande brand Ovoline, which is the top end of mozzarella that one can buy. We slice it ourselves. The basil is delivered fresh twice a week and we can show invoices or put any customer in contact with our food vendor to verify this. Thus, I am guessing you are an internet troll or related to a local competitor. If this is the case, I implore you to remove your review. If you were actually dissatisfied with your experience and were a real customer, then call us and we will make sure you have a better one. As for your claim that we cut corners on our ingredients, we will gladly show the packaging and invoices of our ingredients to anyone who asks -- we cut no corners and source only the best ingredients we can get. I hope this response helps to edify you, or encourage you to remove your review if my suspicions about you writing a fake and slanderous review are accurate.

I ordered the margarita which is supposed to be fresh sliced tomatoes but they used what appeared to be peeled canned tomatoes and the "fresh" mozzarella was block cheese. The fresh basil had seen better days. Over all it tasted like a frozen pizza and the crust was soggy. I decided to drive down to see the place and going in said it all. There is an odd smell and the workers gave off a weird vibe. And by looking at the ingredients you can tell they are cutting corners with cheap products while saying it's the best quality on their menu.
