My family and friends have been spending a week at lake Champlain every summer for the past 16 years. We discovered Himalaya two summers ago and it has now become one of the highlights of our trip. Such wonderful atmosphere and the service is gracious and helpful. The food is such a wonderful taste experience; the dishes are subtly nuanced. One of the best things about the restaurant is the olfactory treat as the patrons sit and wait while their orders begin to waft into the dining area. I love the prayer flags overhead, and stepping into the restaurant is like stepping away from all that is tawdry, noisy, cheap, and touristy. While a Michigan red hot is a once in a while treat, I wish Himalaya were in New Hampshire where I live because I would be a regular patron. I hope Plattsburgh residents realize what a gem they have.

What a little jewel hidden in plain sight in downtown Plattsburgh! I can't believe it's taken me so long to eat there. The decor and ambiance are lovely, and the food is CRAZY GOOD! Everything is made from scratch, and you can definitely taste that. It's actually three restaurants in one--Tibetan, Bhutanese, and Nepali. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
