Mexican Viejo was so busy tonight (12/27). Our party had to wait a very long time to get drinks, food, and refills. The waitress/Angie was extremely overworked and underpaid. I do believe that a few waiters did not make it to work after the holidays. The food and service were good. Just be ready to stay the night. My party was not asked if I wanted dessert. I was celebrating holiday B-day.

We try to support small business and my husband and other golfers have eaten here frequently. No more! Every takeout, something is missing! Tortillas for fajitas, the sides, salsa the list goes on. On occasion this was corrected by adding item to next order. Today as on other occasions, refused! Treated very rudely! I called the manager, saying we were frequent customers,trying to support and told him of problems. He said" It happens, he had no comment and didn't care if I wrote review and didn't care if none of us came back!" Message received. Will never support this business again and advising all friends. We certainly will be telling all our Taylorsville friends as well. Such rudeness. We want to keep small businesses supported, but some level of gratitude, even small, would be appreciated!

Ben going to this Mexican restaurant for the past 15 years. Always have had a good experience. The food is great and they are willing to change items to your liking. If you don't see something on the menu, then ask them to make what you want. Friendly staff and management.

Cheap lunch specials. It's not that the food is bad by any means but not memorable is a better way to say it.

I understand some people have a bad night so I go back to try a second time the waitress was very rude, the food was wrong not once but twice finally gave up. I asked for the manager and the response was the "Manager will not be back until Monday" I have worked with the public myself and never one time there was not a manager or assistant manager available! The food was cold and not edible. Will never be back and would not recommend anybody to eat there!

I would not recommend the this place to anyone. The food is not great nor is it good. The cost is up there, and don't do take out either. I ordered my food and got nothing that I order. There are other options for Mexican food...

Food is edible, not exciting or very good. This was my second try, as first was poor, I tried again a few months later, same result- soupy mess of mexican food that all tastes the same. I have eaten much better, only a few miles away. Sorry, I really wished the food was better.

Overrated. Its not BAD but its not GREAT. The food is somewhere in limbo and while edible, its definitely not impressive. We eat here when we don't want taco bell but don't want to go out of town. If we can, however, we go to virtually any Mexican restaurant in hickory, and we enjoy them way more. The atmosphere is very gimmicky and you can tell they try to hard to make you think they are "authentic". They have gotten a little more expensive for what I feel is average quality food. Plenty of better options, even if they are 30 minutes away.

Always great food and service and great call-in service too. Food is always as hot and good when taking out as it is when eating in. Love it!!
