I had an amazing barbecue pulled pork sandwich and some incredible barbecue beans that left me wanting more. The atmosphere could use some tidying up, but the friendly staff more than made up for it; they were accommodating and treated me like family, even remembering my name during a last-minute order. The fried flounder was perfectly cooked, and the hush puppies were so delicious that we couldn't stop eating them, making it a meal to remember.

Have not been here in awhile.
Decided to eat here today. WOW !! how things have changed. We both got half rack of ribs two vegetables and tea. There was 2 of us and it totaled $40.69. Ribs were over cooked, potatoes and corn were cold. Only good thing were the hush puppies and tea. We did not eat much of it at all.
We have eaten here since COVID and the price was not this high and food was good .
We will not be eating here again.

I ordered. Bbq chicken with extra sauce buttered potatoes
Cabbage
Chicken was dry with no sauce
Cabbage cold
Potatoes no juice and didn't get a napkin. And didn't get fork knife or spoon
Bad plate
No more of that restaurant

Waited over 15 minutes on phone to place an order before finally hanging up and getting food from elsewhere. Give them the benefit of it just being a bad day and call again the next day only to deal with some of the most rude people. They will definitely not be getting anymore of our business.

First just let me say the food was delicious. What I would like to know is why am I being charge for a plates? What am I supposed to do carry the food in my hand? And why am I paying 2.85 for mac cheese and paying another 50 for cheese. When I question the young lady about the plates and the cheese she had like a attitude. I am spending my monies. We came from New Jersey to eat there because of the reviews. $4"¢00 for 2 plates is crazy

Never ever had a bad meal at Boss Hog. I will go on record in saying they have the best country cooked food anywhere and it's my favorite place to go out and eat at or get take out.

This has to be the best country food anywhere. Prices are reasonable and the food is always awesome. I've always had great experiences with this restaurant and I would recommend it to anyone.

I travel all over this country for work. I've literally have eaten in thousands of restaurants throughout this great country. I can honestly say I have never, in my 55 years, been talked to from an employee of any restaurant like I just did at your Washington, North Carolina location. I am glad to know your business is doing so well that your employees can rudely speak to customers therefore losing a few customers. As the older female just told me, "I can tell you some of the sides but not all of them, there's way too many and we are just too busy for that." I brought my small company of 25 employees up here for three months to do a job and Aurora North Carolina. I guess I should be happy that your employee just made our decision on where we shall eat every night a little easier by taking yiur restaurant off our list. Because after the way we were spoke to on the phone I can 100% guarantee that we will never step foot in this place. I heard the food was pretty good but I will never be able to verify that. I will just be left with the sour taste your employee put into my mouth.

I called several times on 2/2/21 and finally got through the person hung the phone up. Called again and line stayed busy. Finally got through and the young lady was very rude on the phone and while placing order she only said ok. She never told me how long it will take to have it ready or the amount; just hung up. Hubby went to pick up the food and he told me the drive-thru person was rude too. I din't know if the same person but the owner needs to know he is probably losing customers with the staff he has.
The food was good but the service was horrible.
I am trying to support local businesses during this difficult time and I know everyone is tired and frustrated but the staff needs to remember they applied for the job.

Happened upon this hog heaven of food and very thankful I did, the girls at the counter were extremely helpful and patient and explained everything to me and although i wanted to get everything and try it the things I did get were super tasty and some of the best hushpuppies ive ever had and I've had a bunch. Trout, chicken, pot roast, Sweet potatoes wowee. Turned a get something to eat to bring a bunch of it home to share and made everyone happy there as well. I'll be back. Thank you for great food. Keep it up and don't change a thing.

Best fried fish in town. Everything i have had there was great and you can not find better bbq.

I can not tell you how the food is, because every time I ride by it is closed. I tried it about 10 years and it was delicious, I guess the world may never know.

It is slap your Mama good. Love the BBQ sandwich, and the plates are off the hook. I go every time I get a chance. Go on down there and get you feed on. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.â£ï¸

Worst bar-b-que I have ever eaten! Tough, super greasy, terrible sauce am sure it was cooked in the oven, old tasting. Good green beans.

I did not personally go here my husband brought home dinner from there yesterday. ABSOLUTLY the best BBQ I've had since living in Eastern NC sure wish you had one in New Bern!
