Have eaten at Captain Nances for several, several years and overall it is a great place to come
and get fresh seafood!!!! We live in the Leland, NC area and drive down about 15 to 20 times
a year and except for about 2 times we always eat at Captain Nances.

Great food, great price, great view/atmosphere, and friendly service. One of my favorites! If not my top pick...

Fish and chips are great. Burgers are not. Should have figured that based on the name.

I brought a friend with me to your establishment today. Had a fabulous meal, shrimp and flounder so suculent, along with some of the best sweet tea. Such a happy and friendly place. Outstanding wait staff. Loved the view over looking the water. Plan on going back many times~

Lunch special unbelievable delicious and the price is right!!! My family of five was seated immediately and server brought baskets of delicious hush puppies and took our orders. I had fried shrimp and devil crab, slaw, fries and water with lemon.... all for $5.99 plus Tax! Best on the beach!!! Thanks Capt. Nance!!!

We have dined at this restaurant for the past few years and have noticed a steady decline in both service and food quality. Today however really took the cake (or camera for that matter). We arrived at approximately noon and were seated immediately which was great for our party of 4 adults and 3 children. We then waited nearly 10 minutes for our waitress to deliver menus, silverware, etc. If the place had been packed I would have understood but this was not the case and our waitress appeared to have little interest in taking our orders. Once delivered, the food was adequate although the salads were full of rapidly browning lettuce. While the portions where large in size, the quality was lacking. The fried oysters were good but I think we could have done just as well and came out cheaper by going over to Captain D's or Long John Silvers. The service provided was at best minimum. Our waitress neglected our table and we were left without refills on our drinks. It took several tries to catch her attention to get our check and when it arrived it amounted to nearly $100 as we expected. Normally when traveling we tip very (VERY) well - usually 15% for adequate service and a full 25% for excellent service so we didnt feel at all bad for leaving less than 15% for our waitress. She certainly didnt earn a top tip and we werent just gonna throw one her way. We paid our bill at the register without so much as a "Thank you, please come again" from the woman behind the counter and left disappointed. We all agreed to try someplace new next time around. We traveled up the road to a shopping complex and this was where I discovered my camera (brand new, full of my son's awards day pics and worth well over $300) was missing. I had just taken seveal shots at the restaurant so we hopped back in the Explorer and made a quick trip back to pick up the camera. I walked in and asked if anyone had turn it in and was asked if we had eaten there. Hello?! We had just left! Our party of 7 wasnt THAT hard to miss!?? A waitress (not our original) made a half-hearted attempt at locating the camera and came up with nothing after making a quick trip over to the table and then into the back of the restaurant. She gave me a card for the establishment and told me to call back and check later. I left near tears. A short time later, my husband dropped me off at the shops and went back to the restaurant himself. After speaking with the manager and waitstaff and getting the same run around he threatened to call the police at which point the camera was promptly "found". Needless to say - we will NEVER visit this restaurant again and will warn others against it.
