We went to the Sunset last night and had the country steak dinner. When we were served our plate it looked so unappetizing. Mashed box potatoes luke warm and the meat had no flavor. My friend said this looks and tastes like dog food.. the cooked cabbage was terrible. I would have to say it was the worst dinner I have had in a long time. Our server was lovely, we should have complained but didn't. I feel I threw away 10.95 plus 2.00 tip,on food so bad. I remember having good breakfasts at the sunset. I don't know if this was an off night but it will be a long time before I ever go back. My friend wanted pie but was afraid to order it based on the quality of our dinner.

My husband and I visited Sunset in 2000 while on vacation. We spent the past weekend in Franklin and we decided to visit the Restaurant and as always it was awesome!!!! The chicken pot pie was delicious. And of course the pies were heavenly. The waitress was very kind and attentive. Don't miss a good meal while visiting Franklin!!

I was visiting Franklin this past weekend and we all went to Sunset for breakfast. This is my only
(but hopefully not last) experience. Breakfast was delicious and very reasonably priced. However, as with all restaurant experiences, the service is the "make or break". Theirs was excellent ! The dear lady who waited on us was sweet, attentive, and personable, without being too "touchy feely" like you can sometimes get. In fact, the whole place was a balancing act. It was a nice place that was warm and friendly. Some places carry unpretentious too far.
If I just have to "split hairs", they should add more seats out front to accomodate the lines that I'm sure they have.
Looking forward to re-visit for lunch and dinner

OMG! We have nicknamed this restaurant the "pie place" and it deserves 5 stars for the made fresh daily pies. I recommend ordering your favorite with your ice tea order - or they may be sold out. The daily specials are just plain good food the prices are very reasonable.
