The food is delicious with generous portions, and the service is excellent. The atmosphere is a bit dim, but the overall experience at Hook & Anchor is fantastic, especially in the fall with their apple fritter dessert.

Bring back the old Hook&Anchor, never has been run right since Frederick and Hilda retired. Raised the prices and lowered the quality and quanity. Rob may know something about barbequestions but not seafood!

called to place an order, a girl answers phone and asked me if i could hold a minute. After holding on phone for 8 min and 48 seconds the phone was hung up!!!!! cant try food if you cant place an order.

Went for the Sunday afternoon "Seafood" Buffet. I found only 4 kinds of fish, baby fried shrimp and Scallops. The salt and pepper catfish was tough and overcooked, the first bite tasted burnt. The shrimp were too small, the broiled fish had no taste, the fried flounder was also overcooked and tough, the other fried fish (mystery fish) was soggy. The best thing on the buffet was the Brown sugar cured ham! That is sad for a Fish house. Told the waitress at the register when she asked "how was everything?" that it was not what I expected. She didn't say a word or ask any questions like "What was wrong sir?" I won't be back until I hear it is under new ownership or new management.

I have eaten here all my life then I moved from Marion and only get to eat here one time a year when I visit. This year was a TOTAL disappointment. The fried fish was a soogy mess and for a $12 plate of scallops, I got 2 scallops that had been cut into pieces. The restaurant was almost empty for a Saturday night, maybe the locals knew something I didn't!

I just love this place, the food is amazing, wonderful people, great take-out also. One of the best places to eat in town. The BEST seafood in Marion!
