Over priced grumpy staff food was OK but not a lot of options. They are very proud of themselves, but they are not backing it up.

As residents of Hampstead, this is our, "go to" place on a regular basis with extrordinary results. Always fresh and always delicious. They allow your dog on the back patio too.

The Beach Shop & Grill is the BEST restaurant on Topsail Island. Some reviewers have mentioned that it is expensive. I disagree. Our family eats out every night on vacation. We ate at BSG twice. Both meals cost around $56 for our family of 3. Compared to other meals that we ate like at Crabby Mike's and Mollie's which cost the same or more, the food at BSG was so much better. The shrimp and grits are amazing. We have vowed to eat there every night on our next vacation. That is how good it is!

The previous review for this restaurant is outdated. The restaurant has gone through a series of renovations and is now well-furnished. My waiter provided excellent service. He was attentive and replenished beverages frequently.
Without asking he quickly replaced a burnt out candle with a fresh one. From what I could tell he and the other waiters and waitresses handled the other tables with great care.
The food is semi-expensive and I would not recommend this location for a casual night out.
The breakfast and lunch services are not as nice as the dinners, but the food is typically of good quality and the service is excellent. Accordingly breakfast and lunch are much less expensive then the dinner menu.

Breakfast with family. Service was very, very poor. Waitress forgot one drink for family member for 10 minutes, messed up on another family member's order and had to get it redone. Forgot part of one order and did not bring toast until end of meal. When I bit into a piece had a long hair in it. Needless to say I would never ever return and don't recommend to anyone else.
