Good Food

I have loved this place for as long as I can remember. The food was way better than I can cook. The cabbage and collard greens melt in your mouth. The stewed beef was delicious and good size portions. But no more. The prices have gone up and the quality AND quantity of the food has gone way down. I am so disappointed. Good-bye to my once favorite 'homey' place to eat.

We Love Meatloaf Monday and the Kale and Cabbage sides are wonderful. Coconut Creme Pie is also very good.
We only wish that everyone would consistently wear their masks. The young man at the cash register has his on his face but not covering his nose or mouth. So, what's the point? I'm glad to see that over the last few weeks more and more of the staff that dish up your order are wearing masks.
Overall this place does a great service for the community. The food is good, it's clean most of the time and the prices are reasonable. I do wish that they would set this up to serve Cafeteria Style like you see in hospitals with a cashier totaling you up at the end as they could eliminate so many servers behind the counter bumping into each other constantly. It would just make a lot more sense and require less people. One other suggestion would be to use different size "ice cream scoopers" with the quick release lever to make the portions consistent. I've seen the girls fight with the mashed potatoes sticking to the serving spoons and this would make it easier. We order from here every Monday. Great little gem for the community.

We love HandiMart Restaurant. Only place you can get country cooking or fast food! Every time we eat there the food is always good and they have a special for each day of the week. They have pies and cake for dessert as well! Going to eat there tonight! Yea
