When we walked in there was no sign of anyone working there so we just sat ourselves. The only people we saw was a party of 4 sitting at another table waiting for their food. After sitting there for 20 minutes and not seeing one person that looked like they worked there we got up and grabbed a menu so we would at least be ready to order when someone showed up. Fifteen minutes later we still had not seen any signs of life. Then a man walked out from the back and looked in our general direction (I'm sure he saw us sitting there waiting). I thought he would tell someone in the back to go out there and take our order. Well, five minutes later we were still sitting there. We finally walked out and went next door to Camino Real and had some great Mexican food. The sign says they are under new management. If this is the way the new management works I don't think they will be in business much longer. By the way, while we were enjoying our Mexican food we noticed (through the windows) the people that had been sitting there before we got there were finally being served their meal.

Excellent home made italian food! Englese's has an awesome atmosphere with a great working staff.

Don't know much about Italian food except for Pizza and spigetti (or however you spell it). Judy and I love the spigitti (or however you spell it). I always get the peronal pizza and it is GREAT... Thanks Englese's for coming to Surf City...
