amazing food and service.

review_stars 05/28/2013 - the owner walked away when i complained about the veal.
Lunella Ristorante • 173 Mulberry Street, Little Italy, New York City • Reservations: (212) 966-6639 • dont go. I was so disappointed on Saturday night with the owner response to my complaint. She blamed the poor quality (or over cooking) of the veal to the size of the plate I was cutting it on. The owner should have take the complaint, tried to cut the meat her self ....It was like leather. I don't care what she did.... but she should have done something.... she just walked away. I will now look through all forms of media to spread the work about the total disregard I was shown by the owner about the complaint. she told me there was nothing wrong with it.. she never had a complaint in 38 years. and walked a way.

Server took our plates without asking before we were finished eating (food still on our plates). Did not appreciate a 20% tip being added to the bill. Food tasted average, not worth the price.

I've been in the restaurant business for over 40 years and have owned a 4-star French restaurant over 25 years! Never have I seen worse service in a restaurant, or an owner arguing with the customers. The food was just all right, so If anyone is writing a positive review for this restaurant, I suspect that they work for or are connected directly to Lunella's. My advice is: go somewhere else!

Worst Italian restaurant I've ever been to. The lasagna tasted almost solely of the cheap tinned tomato used. The veal parmigiana was cheap supermarket crumbed veal, overcooked, with barely heated tinned tomato just dumped on top. There's is no way the chef has been trained to cooked italian food, I suspect he hasn't even been trained to cook - or tasted a real lasagna!

The service was the worst I've experienced anywhere America, the waiter tried to force us to pay the 18% gratuity, then verbally abused us when we refused claiming it was a requirement under NY law!

Hi Nick, Hope this e-mail finds you well. Thanks again for making our N.Y. trip a memorable one with great service and a great meal. Here are a couple of photos of you and Caren and also 2 other waiters and Caren. Enjoy. Looking forward to returning soon, and will definitely return to Lunella Ristorante. Of course, we will request that you be our server. Stay well. Arrivederci amico mio. Jerry and Caren Labovitch

We went here because we thought it looked like a good restaurant at a decent value. Turned out to be totally wrong. One dish was good, the other made my gf sick before we even made it home. And after we complained that the food tasted kinda strange, they did nothing and then tried to attach a huge tip on the bill. Will avoid this place like the plague.

stumbled on this place after getting shaken down by all the restaurant "greeters" on Mulberry St. Tired and hungy, my son and I said "what the hell".

Absoultely great garlic and olive oill pasta meal. Sausage slices were juicy and perfect.

I am picky with my Italian food, and this place is well worh the stop.

My favorite Italian restaurant closed down a few years ago and after trying many, I finally found one that was not only as good, but was better. I now have a new favorite Italian restaurant. Truly good Italian food!

I had out of town guests who wanted to eat in a true Little Italy restaurant. Someone had recommended Lunella and I made reservations for 10. I have to say that the food was nothing short of spectacular. With 10 different dishes being served, there was no one who was unhappy -- they were all absolutely thrilled with my choice. Highly recommended.

The food was good, but double check your bill! They tried to sneak in a 28% tip on a $90 check.

A very good selection of wine and food. I love seafood and this restaurant has no shortage of it. I had the Linguine al Frutti di Mare which which came with shrimp, clams, etc plus exquisite wine and garlic sauce. Mmm.. perfetto.
