We celebrated my birthday here. It is a bit dim and small, but the food is marvelous and the service impeccable! When the staff learned it was my birthday, they surprised us with a complementary dessert which was as delicious as the rest if the meal. The owner, Mr. Russo, chatted with us as we departed. We highly recommend this restuarant!

Been going there for years ( both before moving to NYC and 15 years afer) and they have the the very very BEST grilled Dover Sole in the city and USA.
Being a financial consultant for over 30 years i have tried the best, and not.
Of course Le Bernardin ranks right next to them but I'll take the great atmosphere, location and initmiate downstairs and waiters, manager/ owner, staff anytime at Scalinatella!
