Great food and fast service

I was very dissatisfied with both the service and the food at this restaurant. I was made to wait an uncomfortable and lengthy period of time despite the restaurant not being full, and the food was the most bland, dry and disgusting "French" food I have ever experienced.
They allowed the plates to pile up on our table after each course and did not care to remove them. The salad was mere romaine lettuce drenched in a Caesar dressing (and this was suppose to be the house salad at a French restaurant) the French onion soup was watered down, and the filet mignon was tough and rubbery despite requesting it medium rare.
We expressed our dissatisfaction with our waiter and requested the bill. There was a desert that would have come with my meal, but we requested for the check and that the desert be taken off the bill since it never made it's way to the table. The waiter refused to discount the desert, made no apologies about the wait time, bad experience or service. He took over 20 minutes to bring back the change from our bill and a member in my party had to go looking for him to track it down!
If you are looking for a quality French place to dine, then DO NOT dine at La Bonne Soupe 48 West 55th Street, NY
