There's a fantastic diner right across from the university that serves delicious food and has an inviting atmosphere. I've been enjoying their breakfast specials for over 40 years, and the quality remains impressive. The staff is always friendly and attentive, making every visit feel like a warm welcome home.

Had a very bad experience with Belinda the hostess and Trish the Manager on New Years Eve. I was in line to get seated, and my party was enroute.I was told I could not be seated because my party was not there yet, I explained he was seconds to minutes away. Several parties were seated I. Front of me including a guy that was by himself and given a booth. I had been coming here for years and treated like trash. I won't go back and could care if the owner reads this, because I know nothing will be done. And I wonder if it was something about the way I looked that compelled Belinda and Trish to be so rude, citing policy as an excuse. Be mindful folks who your spending your hard money on and take a good look at how they treat us.

I ordered Lemon Mer pie, apple pie, cherry pie, cheese cake, fudge cake, lemon coconut cake, and rat mousse pie. I ordered these items for a JUST DESSERTS event in my home! EVERYTHING was delicious!!!!!

This is a diner, folks. Let's be real. If you are dumb enough to order "Veal Oscar" at a diner, you probably deserve to get sick.

AWFUL!! AWFUL!! AWFUL!! Never go to Michael's Family Diner in Glenside. Their manager is very unprofessional, and their kitchen staff should be held for fraud. Tonight, my wife ordered Veal Oscar that includes crab meat. When it arrived, she received crab CAKES dumped on top of the veal. It was nauseating and made my wife sick after one bite. She told the waiter and she sent it back. We had to leave since my wife was getting sick from the garbage they sent out as Veal Oscar. The manager, however, instructed our waiter to charge us for my wife's cup of soup and her little salad. We told the manager this was very unfair and no way to correct the situation. He just kept smiling and repeated, "I don't give away free food. She had the soup and salad and that is $8.25." When I told him I was posting this story on line, he laughed. I hope the owners of this restaurant see this posting and act accordingly. This manager did a very poor job, as did the "chef" who sent out a platter that was advertised as Veal Oscar. Don't go there. I will gladly post again and will let everyone know if the owners step in to rectify this situation. David dblyweiss@aol.com
